It's going to be a close game. I don't think one team is that much better than the other.

Advantages:
QB: GB
WR: Dallas
TE: Tie ( Cook is good. Witten is up in age).
RB: Dallas
Coaching: Close...I'll say GB
OL: Dallas
Rushers: GB due to Matthews.
Garrett is actually doing a great job this season (and I hate Garrett). McCarthy not so much

Last time we played the Pack didn't have Clay Matthews either. All I was hoping for today was these two teams to beat each other up bit while we sat in the hot tub. We simply cannot give Aaron Rodgers all day to throw the freakin' ball like the Giants did today. It seemed like the NY pass rush was just giving up at times. If we can execute our game, which I am confident we will, we beat them. Plus, we owe them a HUGE *****-slap after that 2014 playoff game in GB were there was that bogus non-catch call against Dez. I'm still pissed about that.
You talking about earlier this year? Because they did have Clay Matthews.

  • Rodgers went 31-42 for almost 300 yards (how much better can he play)
A lot better. Let's not pretend Rodgers didn't play like trash by posting his stat line. His current play is night and day compared to that game. That will be the difference.

Wrong....Matthews played, but he only had two tackles. To be honest, until the end of the game when he got that strip-sack, he wasn't a factor today either....very little pressure.

No, it's more of a game day coaching philosophy. I'm hoping he goes all out, the Giants settled for field goals with a much better defense than we have and got owned in the end due to their lack of early courage. I hope we are courageous early on, not a Jason strong suit.
It's funny how much better coaches are when the team executes the plays they call. It's always about execution.

Garrett has shown this year that he isn't afraid to go for it on 4th down even when I was against it. I have seen him go for a fake punts and surprise onside kicks this year too.

Garretts coaching ability has been limited in years past, but I think now that he has complete faith in his team that he is really not that conservative. It's always about execution.

Bring it on.... Psychologically I like where we are. We beat these guys. We know we can beat them. ... We're not traveling to some mid America dump of a field where it's minus 20. We earned the #1 seed and the right to play at home. A lot of our guys don't have the seeds of past failures in their heads. I love my team.

The Giants lost for the same reason Detroit lost. They didn't play very well. Somebody please tell me how many balls Beckham dropped that could have changed the game?

Yes, the playoffs are a new season, and any team can defeat any other team, and I'm hearing lots of praise for Aaron Rodgers, but ...

Last meeting on Oct 16, we won 30-16 despite the following:
  • At Lambeau field
  • Rodgers went 31-42 for almost 300 yards (how much better can he play)
  • Had Lacy running the ball 17 times for 65 yards and Montgomery...not much now
  • Had all his receivers healthy, including Cobb and Nelson
  • Completed passes to 9 different players
  • Dak only went 18-27 with an INT and lost a fumble
  • Our rookies were still slightly green on Oct 16
  • Only sacked Rodgers once at line of scrimmage, no loss.
How did we win?
  • Our defense gave up only one TD, playing tough in the red zone as they have all season.
  • Zeke ran 28 times for 158 yards, yet time of possession was still with GB slightly
  • Dak hit three TD passes
Extras?
  • We won that game without DLaw, without Mayowa, with almost nothing from Collins
  • Dez Bryant didn't even play
Despite Rodgers, most other things, including rookie experience, home field, healthy players, and a much improved D-line fall in our favor after already beating them at home when they played well.

There are no guarantees, but I like our chances, and I'm sure our players have to feel confident.

That game was Rodger's turning point in the season. Rodger's OL is playing far better today than it was then.

We want to beat GB, you had better keep the ball out of GB's hands. Feed Zeke, and mix up the calls. (ie, no 1st rush, 2nd, rush, 3rd pass. 1st rush, 2nd rush 3rd pass)

I like this. But man I feel like GB just gets lucky in the playoffs. And we're unlucky this time of year. We need to represent the NFC, it's always the same old teams it's tiring.

That game is ancient history. Also, you missed the part about GB turning the ball over 4 times in that game, which I find unlikely to happen again.

The fact is that GB is a much better team now than they were then. Losing Jordy will hurt them, home field will help us a bit, the week off and general health will help us, but this is a game that could easily go either way. I'd call it 55-45 Cowboys. But fear? You bet. I'm terrified of Rodgers just picking us apart all day long.
My question is, how many QB's have picked this defense apart this year and come away with a victory? The answer= none. Kirk Cousins had 500 yards passing on us, but still lost. Big Ben had a big day against us and he lost. Our only real losses were to Eli, and he certainly didn't carve us up. I like our chances if it's a shootout against a suspect defense. Rodgers will get his yards, but like so many times this season, it won't matter at the end of the day.

If Dallas was on a 7 game winning streak everyone would be worried that it is time for a loss. If we can move the ball consistently against the Packers defense (and I think we can) and we go +1 in the turnover battle (unless there is no time to do anything with the ball after the turnover) we will win the game by 7 plus points.

This game may come down to our defensive back play and how healthy Scandrick and Mo are.

It's going to be a close game. I don't think one team is that much better than the other.

Advantages:
QB: GB
WR: Dallas
TE: Tie ( Cook is good. Witten is up in age).
RB: Dallas
Coaching: Close...I'll say GB
OL: Dallas
Rushers: GB due to Matthews.

Not really a good way to evaluate a matchup, (and I don't agree with many of your assessments there) but all those factors were the same earlier in the year when we beat them handily in their own house.

Rodgers on the road, not at home, against our healthy secondary and healthy DL (and prob no Jordy Nelson). Or Dak vs their banged up secondary.

QB: DALLAS
TE: DALLAS (no way is Cook better than Witt)
Coaching:: DALLAS (I'll take Garrett, Linehan, and Marinelli over their 3)
