Stop the run and make Dak beat you is a playoff strategy that seems to work pretty well.Actually, the Cowboys Oline finished 2023 ranked 3rd in Passing and 14th in Rushing.

The playoffs is worse. I believe they finished last in rushing yards during the playoffs the past 3 playoff seasons in a row.
You know what this is.They never were push overs on the O-line.
They've had one of if not the best O-lines in the NFL for like 15 years now.
What are you talking about, Rocky?
And hilarious!I wish. That man is filthy rich (self made) and famous.
Yeah the playoff game was just an all around failure. That almost needs to just be wiped from our memories because you can't really evaluate anyone because of how bad it was all around.Actually, the Cowboys Oline finished 2023 ranked 3rd in Passing and 14th in Rushing.

The GB game made me think we were watching a sequel to Invasion of the Body SnatchersYeah the playoff game was just an all around failure. That almost needs to just be wiped from our memories because you can't really evaluate anyone because of how bad it was all around.
Passing wise this team ranked 3rd in the league as you said, and Dak had a 2.72 second average time to throw per PFF. That ranks as pretty average, above average if you factor out the truly high end mobile QBs who buy extra time with their legs like Jackson, Hurts, Fields etc. where were all over 3 seconds last season. They were also 5th best in the league in presser percentage allowed at 16%.
Rushing wise they were 14th overall, and 17th in the league in yards gained before RB contact. Pretty mediocre in that regard, but I really wonder how much of that was a lack of talent or an outdated scheme that kept asking Tony Pollard to hammer it between the tackles.
Yup, I realize the blocking schemes can be limited by the personnel, especially if you have a weak center, but it sure looked like MM and Schotty's run blocking schemes were half-hearted afterthoughts. More effort please.I'm more concerned with the running scheme.
Clearly last year was a flop.
So in other words, you're saying to "move on." Dak, is that you? Lol.Yeah the playoff game was just an all around failure. That almost needs to just be wiped from our memories because you can't really evaluate anyone because of how bad it was all around.
Move on, dont move on, I couldn't care less. For 2024 I don't think it really matters because this is the same team that is pretty good, but doesn't have a real shot at making a run.So in other words, you're saying to "move on." Dak, is that you? Lol.
Id say a decade, did you miss 2010-2013 with romo running for his life? They never were push overs on the O-line.

Speaks pretty loudly to their soft schedule.Actually, the Cowboys Oline finished 2023 ranked 3rd in Passing and 14th in Rushing.
They’ve been pretty good pass blocking but pretty bad run blocking. Biadasz is a JAG and it’s why he’s gone. Tyron missed 14 games in the last 2 years and you said he wasn’t a liability? Steele was just bad last year. Finally got healthy towards the end. Tyler Smith was a rookie who played great but had some rookie moments. They were average at best.I would have to agree. Steele was pretty rough the first half of the year last season, but overall this Oline was one of the better units in football. I wouldn't say the best but probably top 10ish. The idea that people think Biadasz was a JAG and Tyron was a liability is just wrong. If some combination of Guyton and Beebe/Hoffman can get you similar production to what the Cowboys had a LT/C last year that would be a win.
Biadasz is now the 6th highest paid C in the league. I agree he isn't an elite Center, but you don't get that type of a contract by being a JAG. He's a pretty average NFL C by todays standards who got paid a slight overpay in free agency, and that is why he is gone. Tyron was literally voted to the all pro team. Steele was bad last year, he was the weakest point on the OL in 2023, I agree with you there. Tyler Smith wasn't a rookie last season and another literal all pro. They’ve been pretty good pass blocking but pretty bad run blocking. Biadasz is a JAG and it’s why he’s gone. We had 3 All-Pros on the O-line last year.Id say a decade, did you miss 2010-2013 with romo running for his life?
Last year was also horrendous
Bohanna was never that good, and the jury is out on Ridgeway.
But since 1991, the Cowboys have used only 10 picks in the first 4 rounds on DTs. Only 1 in the first round, which is Mazi Smith. Over that same period they draft 13 OL in the first 2 rounds. It just looks like they prefer to draft OL earlier than DL. I am not saying this is wrong because DT is a position they could fill in free agency. Except, they don't believe in bidding on quality free agents either.
They are greatly improved at linebacker. They have Parsons. The secondary looks strong.I never worried about our offensive line. Our defense will stink it up, as has been the case in 3 out of 5 of our playoff losses.
Say what? The entire universe knows you have to overpay in free agency to get the guy you want.Biadasz is now the 6th highest paid C in the league. I agree he isn't an elite Center, but you don't get that type of a contract by being a JAG. Two all pro players, a center who is now making top 10 money at the position, and a future all of famer who still plays at a high level in Zach Martin, but these guys were average at best? No chance....
I think they completely mismanaged the run game by asking Tony Pollard to be someone he wasn't and were consistently poor at blocking at the 2nd level. Overall though this unit was very solid in 2023 with one true underperformer in Steele
As long as they avoid the injury bug I would agree that LB should be significantly better. There is actually a lot of competition for snaps there if Parsons really does transition back to a hybrid player. They are greatly improved at linebacker. They have Parsons. The secondary looks strong.
That makes no sense at all. If everyone has to overpay to get free agents then it's not really overpaying, that's just market value.Say what? The entire universe knows you have to overpay in free agency to get the guy you want.
Can’t make this stuff up. You’re propping a guy because of his salary? If Biadaz is so good, why isn’t he here? He got manhandled last year. That makes no sense at all. If everyone has to overpay to get free agents then it's not really overpaying, that's just market value.
Regardless the guy has the 6th highest AAV at C right now. How many JAGs are the 6th highest paid at their position? Johnathan Hankins is close to JAG status, that's why he only got $2M in free agency.
