This affects the picture for Farniok:

Tyler Biadasz

The Cowboys traded up to acquire this Badger blocker and he’s developed into everything they could hope for. He continues to improve, and his growth last year earned him Pro Bowl honors. Biadasz is a great communicator, helping call out protections at the line of scrimmage and his pass-blocking keeps improving as he didn’t allow a single sack last year. Not only is he a reliable piece to the offensive line, but the Cowboys don’t really have many backup centers left on the roster as Matt Farniok would be the next best option. The Cowboys shouldn’t overthink this one. Reliable players are allows a good investment.

Biadasz will probably receive a new contract by next season.

Biadasz did not initially make the Pro Bowl. He was later included as an alternate due to someone else previously voted was unable to make it. At the same time, Biadasz did improve greatly and did deserve to eventually make the Pro Bowl, even as an alternate.

Farnoik is the Cowboys top interior backup. The coaches believe in him. I remember against Tampa, game 1 when McGovern was injured. The Cowboys did not miss a beat. Good player. The Cowboys backup offensive linemen appear to be a underestimated strength of the team.
I certainly hope so, there's a good chance we'll need it.

I just think if we make Tyron the swing tackle we will be fine. I think left guard is the least of our worries as long as Tyler and Steele continue to get better at the tackle positions.

Anyone thinking a player making that much money is going to be on the bench if healthy is delusional.

I think Tyron will start at right tackle and they will move Steele to left guard. I just don’t believe Tyron will hold up and would be better served as a swing tackle. Nobody is being delusional I just want what is best for the team. If healthy Tyron is the best tackle on the team. We all know that he has a hard time remaining healthy.

McCarthy seemingly more interested in a plug and play guard in the first round rather than Mazi was kind of telling of what he thought our biggest need was.

However, you could also say not picking up another OL until day 3 could indicate that they didn't think that there were guards better than what we already had.

Training camp will be interesting.

So much talk about needing a LG when we have Tyler Smith and Matt Farniok. I guess not many see promise in Farniok's game? I thought he looked OK out there last year and I expect him to improve this year.

9.99 RAS means he has the physical tools to be a good player.
I expect Farniok to be at leaat as good as McGovern was in 2022.

In his 2 starts last season, Farniok showed the required physical ability.
- He just appeared to need more experience.

Edoga is a legit option at LG also.
- I watched all snaps of his 1 start at LG in 2022 for the Falcons.
- He was above average in that game; although I don't know if the opponent (Bears) DLinemen were a significant challenge.

He likely leaves for UFA $$$ after 2024.

Unless he can work his way into starting.

Sure which means he was 3rd best instead of 2nd in the NFC.

It IS delusional to think a healthy Tyron sits at all. So your idea of him as a swing tackle fails
