well marinelli also rushed 3 on like 75% of the snaps it seemed like

after the first series I'm not sure if we blitzed again

I can understand dropping 8 if you're actually affecting throws with coverage. But that obviously was not the case.

I don't really think it can be corrected. We can't make average players play with more talent.

We can hide it for the most part, but not when we run in to real offenses like today (or new England). It scares me

I agree. I think the lack of pass rush and the lack of a dynamic passing attack could doom us in the playoffs.

You won't find many more offenses as explosive as Washington.

Cousins, Jones, Garçon, Crowder, Jackson and Reed.

If you think anybody is better than that group you're crazy. Respect for their offense.

Keep in mind our best corner was out and our captain SS was out.

The Commanders have a better offense than the patriots?

The DT's played okay but ALL of the edge guys were terrible today. Not a decent player in the bunch.

They've got to blitz more. Take the risk, press the receivers and blitz. This chicken **** 3 man rush is going to be the demise of our season

I know they do it to prevent big pass plays, but we gave one of those up today anyway. Definitely need to try different blitz packages. Also, anyone think Jared Allen has anything left and is worth looking at to bring out of retirement.

You put it nicely as always.
At the presser Jason Garrett explained his defense it was to let them throw underneath and eat up the clock, he was concerned about the lapse of Brown in the fourth quarter and it was not planned. He was all about the win and not hung up on the lack of sacks or the amt of yards given up.

I like the game plan. We rushed 3, made them walk the field. IMO, had we not tried to blitz, they never would have scored that long TD. Look, we have ZERO pass rushers and our secondary is just completely banged up. We need to keep to this philosophy, and use our offense to take the will away from other teams.

We all knew pass rush was the biggest weakness on the team and today it showed. Hopefully they can over come it going forward.

Definitely a bad sign with that many passes thrown. This has been a problem for years now and we address it by signing Mayowa and Davis?

It's a serious issue.

It is no doubt. Thing is, they COULD have had a number of impact guys and instead drafted Gregory and Smith. I said at the time, it wasn't smart to draft a kid who couldn't stay straight at Nebraska or a kid who had a bad knee. Jerry being Jerry. Lots of good, impact Defensive players in both those drafts....too bad it might cost us a trip to the Super Bowl this season.
