This is the "stop making old people uncomfortable" law

This!

It's a badge of a particular self selecting in group, that has the advantage of making the conventional and stuffy go all atwitter. Me, I think it looks dumb, but I also understand what it's there for. And it's not like every generation hasn't had the same sort of thing, and that this doesn't also exist for scads of other in-group 'badges'.

Depends on where you are and how much nudity. In Texas, women are allowed to go topless in some public areas. There may be local ordinances that supersede the State statutes.

i was going to say this as well. as i understand it, unless other wise stated, a woman can be topless in public as long as it is not for sexual gratifacation

A woman is not getting on a Fort Worth bus with her boobs hanging out.

If she did, she would have difficulty hiding a weapon. :D I've heard it is easy to conceal a weapon in baggy pants. I don't know if that had any bearing on why they implemented this rule in Ft. Worth.

Only thing this rule says is you have to pull your pants up. They are not telling anyone they must go home and change just pull your pants up when getting on the bus. Personally I don't think that is asking much to have a guy with his pants almost down to his knees to pull up his pants.

I hate saggy pants as much as the next guy but what I hate worse is the idea of the government getting involved in telling people what to wear.

I wouldn't be too gung-ho in this matter.

When it becomes what you like that is deemed offensive at some unclear future moment, you might just look back regrettably at your assent of this sort of intrusion on individual rights. It's not nude, smelling of garbage or crap, just silly. Well, people have the right to run around like that.

Yes they do and no one says they can't dress like that just pull up your pants when you get on the bus.

Well going so far as to enforce such a thing is just problematic. It's just a slight wedge toward getting too close to telling people how to dress, legally. Are we this fickle that we have to pass laws for this? There are worse things a person can do than show a little plumber butt in public.

Should it be a law? No, but I think there should be a dress code that is based on the property you are on. Just like most restaurants requires shoes and shirt. When on city owned property, they too can and should enforce a dress code.

Leaving it to the discretion of the bus driver is fine, without punishing him for doing so. But if the person doesn't comply, I don't think they should be hit with some form of legal action either. We're getting dangerously bored here in America, creating new and unusual rules/laws to apply to regular law abiding citizens. Enough already.

Do they have a right to tell you to ride the bus you have to have foot ware you can't ride bare foot? No one is saying they can't ware it they are saying pull up your pants.

They just can't get on the bus. Only legal action that would be taken is if someone become unruly

And if he doesn't? How far is such a silly thing worth pushing for? A fist fight? A physical confrontation? More nonsense in our legal system for not complying? It's dumb and not worth the effort. Personally I'd rather get on with the trip than wait through Ralph Cramden trying to enforce some bull crap. I'll get where ever on time and just ignore the plumber butt.

Fist fight? I guess that depends if the person being asked to pull up his pants were to start a fight. The bus has rules about playing loud music on the bus what happens if that guy gets upset and gets into a fight? What is ridicules is this notion that we can do whatever we want and that is not the case and never has been.

Bus driver? I say whoever owns the bus has the final say. If it is the city, then the city counsel decides or it's put to a public vote.

I doubt the owner is going to be driving the bus. The only person to make a judgement is the driver who's there all day.
