exactlySome people don't remember the years between Aikman and Romo.
exactlySome people don't remember the years between Aikman and Romo.
Some of them probably weren’t here or weren’t following the Cowboys back then. A lot of fans here seem to think it’s easy finding a franchise QB. They need to go tell that to the Browns and a few other teams. lolSome people don't remember the years between Aikman and Romo.
bingo. WHY wait when the price went up? Why not just get this done a month ago or so when it would have been a bit cheaper? There was no benefit in waiting. UNLESS they had their doubts about Dak being here and were exploring OTHER options at QB. Thats what I think happened. I bet they were praying that Lance beat him out so they waited for camp etc. When that didnt happen, they were like well HELL...now what? lolCould have had it locked up before free agency and been more of a player if Jerry was just going to give Dak everything he wanted anyway.
those were lean years and hard on me as a fan.exactly
100% when Dak's contracts come up this FO has failed miserably to have any viable plan B..thats the real failure, they are not overpaying for QB talent...they fail at making sure they have a plan B at QB when the contracts come up..like they are suprised its time..its crazy. Some of them probably weren’t here or weren’t following the Cowboys back then. There was plenty of top level play for those enjoying good football. Not just top 4 team levels. Some people don't remember the years between Aikman and Romo.
I have no idea why anyone would think it would have been cheaper a month ago. Like why would Dak's price have gone up from August to September? lolbingo. WHY wait when the price went up? No team in the league has a plan B at QB. Half of them don't even have a plan A100% when Dak's contracts come up this FO has failed miserably to have any viable plan B..thats the real failure, they are not overpaying for QB talent...they fail at making sure they have a plan B at QB when the contracts come up..like they are suprised its time..its crazy.
agree. These two buffoons we call the Jones boys NEVER have a normal plan of attack.Get a real plan B at QB and lets see what happens...Im not for or against Dak leaving...I'm for having a real option when his contracts come up.
he wouldn't have signed earlier he didnt need to, the only way to make that negotiation any better or go "The Teams" way was to have a viable plan B..this FO has not had a viable plan B at QB on purpose in 28 years..they have lucked into 2 miracle story Franchise QB's...I have no idea why anyone would think it would have been cheaper a month ago. SF? Philly I mean there are some that have..not saying its easy but if you dont even try then you know what you have.No team in the league has a plan B at QB. Half of them don't even have a plan A
because the LANCE factor was all gone. Thats why. He clearly wasn't beating Dak out. When that became evident, Daks price went up a bit. Should have done this in March or April. June at the latest. Main thing is, now its all over.I have no idea why anyone would think it would have been cheaper a month ago. Like why would Dak's price have gone up from August to September? lol
In the next couple of years, we need to use a pretty good draft pick on a QB to develop them to plan for life without Dak. We didn’t plan well in the event we lost him. Losing him to free agency would’ve left us in an awful situation heading into the 2025 season. This is why the Joneses made damn sure they got him extended before kickoff yesterday. It was a huge relief.100% when Dak's contracts come up this FO has failed miserably to have any viable plan B..thats the real failure, they are not overpaying for QB talent...they fail at making sure they have a plan B at QB when the contracts come up..like they are suprised its time..its crazy.
Dark days man. I still have nightmares of Chad Hutchinson, Quinthy Carter and others like Anthony Wright. Some people don't remember the years between Aikman and Romo.
Jerry left himself no other choice.....smart teams forsee situations and draft BEFORE the need becomes a crisis..Another big blow to the Dallas Cowboys
How many Hall of Famers played then? Oh, blow those facts off and justify your biases.exactly
Another big blow to the Dak haters.
I agree and Im not even a "lose for the #1 pick and grab a QB" guy because that doesnt work either..but you will have to spend some draft capitol on the most important position on the field to be succesful at some point. Im betting we have spent the least on QB over the last 28 years..thats a problem. In the next couple of years, we need to use a pretty good draft pick on a QB to develop them to plan for life without Dak. I'm still rooting for the dance and not crying instead.
Players have been let go at Hall Status and still playing for more than a year more. Missed a few under Jones.Jerry left himself no other choice.....smart teams forsee situations and draft BEFORE the need becomes a crisis..
The Packers always draft a quality QB before they need one. Chiefs moved up to draft mahomes even though Alex Smith was a 12-4 and won the division. Hell, even the Niners drafted Ricky Pearsol in the 1st round because they got wind that Ayouk was gonna demand a new contract
