2 for 2. One for 49 yards that put us up by three scores. HUGE.

If it was a confidence problem, then that had to help his psyche. Nice to see.

...job and that's all anyone wanted. The talk before was because he couldn't do his job when the team was in Jax and he was in Dallas and it was claimed he wasn't injured.

Would have liked to have seen how the Jax game turns out if Vandy hits that late field goal and we go up 13-10? Totally different ending.

I think after the 50 yarder, we all can breathe a collective sigh of relief. Parcells should stop complaining about having to carry 2 kickers. Accept it, deal with it, move on.

I still have an issue of carrying both him and Suisham on the active roster. Suisham is costing us one or two players on the depth chart during games.

This was the case with Vanderjadt while he was with the Colts. As much as Jones has invested in the guy, he should be able to kickoff too.

I hear your point about having to carry another player, but you have to balance that against loosing 2-3 games last year because of missed fieldgoals. What other player are you going to add that can bring you that?

Really, the kicker is the one player whos play's directly translate to points. Sure there are 21 other players out there, but if they all do their job, they cancel themselves out and it comes to one person making a play

I will carry an extra player to the game for that.

I do hear ya though.

Suisham is a kickoff specialist only. Most teams do not have a kickoff specialist. Most teams only have a placekicker for kickoffs and field goals.

That's all I'm saying.

Vanderjagt's ability to hit that 50-yarder was one of the biggest plays of the game. Turning that game into a three-possession contest essentially ended it.

Maybe Vandy should practice his kickoffs during the bye week.
Given his history, I doubt that Parcells will cut Suisham even if he knows that Vanderjadt is completely healthy. JMO.

Our three kickers form a formidable trio. McBriar's punts were off the charts. Vandy was on. And Suisham's kickoffs make it worth it to keep him on the roster. They knew Vandy's limitations when they signed him. I say keep both kickers.
