I could be wrong. But letting a guy twist in the wind publicly does not bode well for Mr. Moore. If they wanted him back they would have already said so. They clearly do NOT want him back. But they also don’t want to destroy Moore’s chances at landing somewhere else quickly.

Again, I could be wrong but the delay is probably the Cowboys looking into what’s out there and deciding who they want to go after. Coupled with letting Kellen Moore have some time to look without him doing so while “fired”.
Any time there is a question about one of his coaches he wants to keep that season he holds a presser to say he loves them. The silence is deafening.

Moore has had high ranking offenses since he's been here. I don't think he scripted Dak's two picks. Give the 49ers their credit as well. Moore is an easy scapegoat right now. They can't fire Dak and they wont fire McCarthy so Moore will be it.
That is fair. The issue is it was a trend and the coaches did nothing to correct it.

Dallas is hiring an offensive coordinator that plans to bring some position coaches with him. i.e., running back, offensive line coach, etc. that were let go from the Cowboys. Moore is out.
Dallas is hiring an offensive coordinator that plans to bring some position coaches with him? And that will be the new OC MM..;)

Had he called some better games we would have been playing San Francisco at home.

I’m basing my “opinion” on the fact that MM said a couple days ago that he was still evaluating KM and would talk to him directly on Friday, i.e. today. The Cowboys organization have not shown a propensity to string coaches along. If they don’t want them back, they don’t string them along. Again, I hope I’m wrong because I think they need a change. I was expecting an announcement he was gone by 3pm today and it didn’t happen.
I'm pretty sure they let Gailey get ripped in the media a few days before firing him.

I heard a few players say they hated seeing him go and Jerry says it was a mistake in hindsight, but we couldn't win road games. Teams would always beat us in the second half. Is urban doesn't go down that year and Greg Ellis doesn't break his leg, I wonder what would have happened. After that Ellis was never the same.

It will be a disaster for any team that hires him as the HC. He's an intelligent guy but he's just now getting his feet wet as an OC. He needs more 18 hour days and McDonald's.

I could see him coaching in college. Frankly, I think that's where he needs to go to recalibrate anyway. He's using the same systems that we've used for over a decade and a half. It's time we get some new ideas, and Moore needs new ideas too. Perhaps some time filling some college vacancies can help him.

Good point.

I am pretty sure KM is gone at this point, otherwise they would have said something by now.

If I was Big Mike, I would just call the plays myself because if this team gets bounced early again next year, he is gone. If I am going down, I am going down calling the plays if I was him.

I think Mike McCoy would be a great choice, alternatively, for the reasons that I stated in my thread on him.

I think the only way he leaves is if Big Mike has someone confirmed to replace him lined up already.
