I guarantee you everyone on this board will say we reached for Basham at 28. I wouldn't necessarily be one of them though even though I'd rather trade down and take him at 30 something. He's going to be a nice player quickly. If he played at LSU nobody would hate the pick at 28.

I could live with Basham at 28. I think he's got a ton of upside and with Marinelli's DL (simple assignments), I could see him helping bigtime as a rookie in a rotation.

While we're at it, I'd take his team mate Blair Brown too. Really like him later in the draft.

Let me unload my liver for second, these draft guides come out later ever year. This one just went to print yesterday. I'm still waiting for Coyle to get his completely done. He lets you download by position as he completes them. You used to get these things a month before the draft. Now we're getting towards two weeks.

I like to digest a draft guide completely before the draft. It's getting tougher to do every year.

I think Basham has the qualities we're looking for. With a good coach, I think he'll be a very productive pass rusher. I like him at 28. But I also think Harris is being overanalyzed and is a safe bet for us.

The younger posters should go look up stories about that guy. Such a sad tale.
Yep... but he nailed more prospects than just about anyone I've ever seen.

For a guy who wrote a draft guide and didn't ever work in the NFL to have pro head coaches calling him for his opinion of prospects... well, that pretty much says it all.

It is indeed a sad tale too.

Seems like Nawrocki is not that all enamored with a lot of the DEs coming out this year.

His board has Garrett at one, Harris at sixteen and Barnett at seventeen. Then a cluster of DEs at 33, 34, 36, 47 and 49 (McKinley, Charlton, Willis, T. Williams, McDowell). Has Watt at 65, Lawson at 75, Walker at 83, Basham at 92, Kpassagnon at 95 and Rivers at 112.

Its interesting that his bad Combine is one of the reasons we even have a shot at him, sometimes you got to take a risk and go with the actual Games.
Wait... so draft a guy based on his football skills and not his track skills?

Mind... Blown.

I think they are trying to get you the most up to date information after the combine, pro Days etc.

I preferred the good old days. .50 a minute to hear Buchsbaum on the phone saying "Twoy Acheman is a once in a lifetwyme quataback".
