He had an iconic voice. One that was somewhat annoying to me but nevertheless. He was kind of a toned-down version of that Eagles announcer who'd I become nauseated with even if I were an Eagles fan

My memory was off a bit. It was actually the "Revel in it, Jerry" rant, and I found it!

Good luck in your retirement Mr Norm.
You did a great job and was a quality listen for years and nobody sold an ad spot with as much gusto as you did good Sir.
Oh and cheesy as it was, it was still a fun listen to your yearly draft funny name bit.

Along with Dale Hansen, ..Norm Hitzges has been one of the most inspiring, charismatic and memorable legendary sports radio and broadcast icon of all time in Dallas FW Metroplex.

I've been following the Norm fan bandwagon since his days on KLIF radio .. ive called in and talked with Norm, and i've emailed him several upon several times over

I've enjoyed and cherished his days of the Norm-ma-thon,... NFL Draft ... NBA Draft ..and countless morning shows

He's flat out one of a kind ... and now that day has come where I've always wondered what it would be like with life without Norm .

And exactly how did the consistent criticism of Hitzges and Hansen impact Jerry? He didn't even give a fart.

One of the few in DFW media who consistently Jerry Jones accountable all these years. I'm going to miss his classic rants.

A true sports radio legend and a good dude too. I met him one time many years ago in the late 80s. He was very personable, funny and humble. He has been a treasure for DFW radio for nearly 50 years.
