I would say both. There is a process and changes this team is going through but yes failing to make the playoffs would be a failure on the season

Again with the if.

Why must I have to answer what isn't happening and am not allowed to talk about what is happening. We lead the NFC East. Until we don't there is no reason to discuss Ifs.

If ifs and buts were candy and nuts we'd all have a merry Christmas.

I agree. We could just as easily turn it around and ask if we do make the playoffs and win a few playoff games will it be part of the process of a huge success.

The fact is both scenarios are speculation, and even if either occurs there it still can't be judged without seeing how things go to get to that point. For example, if we fail to make the playoffs, but Romo and Ware are injured for the last 2-3 games then it probably should be considered more bad luck than a colossal failure.

Even so, after last year we knew there was at least some degree of rebuilding going on, and that became particularly evident when we chose to revamp the O-line as we did. There really was no reason to think we were suddenly going to be a 12-4 team and among the favorites to win the Super Bowl. Yes there have been disappointments this year, but we are at least in a position to fight for a playoff spot, which was never the case last year, and that in itself is progress. If we make the playoffs who knows what might happen. A win and or upset or two and we could make a decent run.
