Norm: I don't believe Jerry Jones will let this team be disciplined

this team will not get another trophy as long as Jerry is running the show.

I agree. And I'm afraid we've got another Al Davis who won't relinquish control of the team to Steven even on his death bed.:bang2:

Jerry turning onto a less senile version of Al Davis.

It wont happen until he's dead, and he's not gonna die anytime soon cuz he's too rich and happy. He's got a pretty hot wife for her age, a brand new stadium, and lots of money. Football is just a game. There's no way it's causing him stress. He's gonna live for many more years, and his ego is too large to give up the front office.

He's not gonna die.
So much for the money can't buy happiness line. If it don't buy happy it sure pays for a lot of sad.

Here's a GOOD question IMO: what record this year would cause JJ to throw his hands up and bring in football men once and for all and get the heck out of the front office?

4-12?

5-11? Or will it simply not happen until he's dead?

I don't think such a record exist...especially when twelve years without playoff win fails to drive home the need for a new GM and organizational philosophy.

what does norm know that he is not telling us ?.who was going to be benched or disciplined?

Al Davis has actually won playoff game over the past 12 years.

Heck, Al Davis has been to a Super Bowl within that time!

Jerry's been the root of our problems for 15 years now. He over ran and undermined Gailey and then his puppet Campo and now Wade. Granted none, of them were good HC's but the matter was made worse by Jerry's interference. Parcells had the most leeway since Jimmy, but Jerry even interfered some then.

The man is just an albatross hanging over this franchise keeping it down.

I supported Jerry for 12 years since Jimmy Johnson left but that was stupid on my part. I sincerely think Jerry Jones IS absolutely the main problem with the state of the Dallas Cowboys franchise and that has been well known around the league for years just like Al Davis.

IMhumbleO anyone who doesn't realize that Jerry Jones is a stain on the NFL and Dallas Cowboys is living with their head in the sand.

nothing. it will never happen again. he gave in and let parcells run the show and we didnt win. Jerry was naive enough to think we were a contender in 04 and then completely impatient and force owens on this organization in 06.

Jerry will never allow a team to be built the way many are around the league. He is going to run the show how he sees fit.

parcells didnt win a superbowl with all the power, hence forth no one will ever get that power again and if they do, right when it starts to get good jerry will show up selling something or declaring what the team will win or find a way to put the team in a tough spot like always.

the reality is, jerry will probably do something over the top and search for one player to fix this teams problems like he always has. And the place where he continues to struggle is wide receiver, and we might need a push their next year.

It is what it is.

I agree with this.

This could be one of those epic failure seasons (like last yr, and from 00-02) where after the season hopefully Jerry looks on the mirror and makes a similar decision as he did in 02, go get a coach who can control the whole thing again.

I've never believed Parcells the coach was a success here, but what Jones did in hiring Parcells was the right thing to do.

It's gonna get really ugly at the new stadium when there are tons of empty seats and threats of blackouts, and thats CLEARLY whats going to happen as this season wears on. Hopefully Stevie tells dad "we gotta do something different"

you wrong on the empty seats. The fans who attend games at the new stadium are middle to upper middle class people, alot of them are there to drink and have a good time, the game is secondary. I dont think we will have empty seats.

In the stadium there are alot of people just eating and watching the videoboard, its like they are at a sports bar. I dont think people will stop going for this reason.

my god scipio is right: al davis and the raiders have gone to a super bowl and playoff games and we have n't.........................now I'm fully depressed.

******theebs: sadly, you are right: just like Cubs fans: they'll keep going for the "scene" not the game. Not real fans anyway. screw 'em...............*************

somehow people need to start getting through to jerry, whether its stephen, the media, or the fans. something has to be done. how much does it take to buy a full page add in the DMN sports page?

I hope Jerry is enjoying watching the money he gave Ken Hamlin get flushed down the toilet....the guy has not made 1 play since he signed that check...Jerry, fooled again!!!! LOLOLOLOLOLOL

spot on. for the most part, our fans at the games are the most football ignorant fans in the world. its a disgusting spectacle to watch, but it sure does make jerry feel at home.

We'll see, but the fact is people are getting where they dont care about the Cowboys that much anymore, and seats are expensive there at the new stadium.

Texas Stadium was half occupied in Landry's last yr and most of Jimmy's first yr. There were tons of no shows at the end of Campo's time. They even had a couple games when Parcells was here where fans of the other team has a huge showing at OUR place.

If they are a middling team come December, there wont be a full house for the Chargers or Eagles games, and if the team is middle of the pack they might not have full houses for the Skins or Raiders at the end of November.

Here is the question for Jerry the GM...how do you feel watching Tony Sparano win games with much less talent then the ferrari you have given Wade??? Does your stomach acid burn your throat as you watch Wade and Red run this car into the ground????

thats not true and that is not what I said.

what I said was that the people going have the money to go, they enjoy going and its like a giant sportsbar.

I said nothing about the fans being bad, I was speaking to them not going.

The Cowboys Franchise is so Bengalesque

Fans could express their disenchantment quite easily by attending games with signs that display anti-GM Jerry slogans. We could even start up some kind of chant, such as "Sell the team!"

I have no idea if such a display would make an impact, however.
