Norm on Next

so how were we going to save the $100 million?

Norm never got into that, i think because of the caller he had this morning probably took up the time, he was going to talk about it

He did mention it in the context of Roster age. Norm stated that this was a young team, yet all the age was found on the O-line he specifically called out players on the wrong side of 30

Columbo
Davis
Gurode
Kosier
Holland
Brooking
Kitna
Newman

He said that conceivably 5 of these guys could be gone. He then added in Barber and Roy E and said that just by losing these guys the cowboys could trim 100 mil from the roster but that it would leave a lot of holes to fill and that it would not be able to be filled through the draft and some would have to be filled through free agency, that's Norm's ascertain

here what Norm would do today.

Put Romo on IR.
Tashard should be starting the RB.
Keep playing Phil Costa, we have 9 games to see what we have
Sean Lee needs to be more on the field at ILB
Victor Butler some more playing time at Spencers spot.
More playing time for Barry Church at S and Mc Cray, with Alan Ball back to CB.
Brent and Lissenmore more playing in DL, Bowen Spears and Hatcher are all FA's next year.
Release Barron. with Young in the backup tackle position.
Also some playing time for McGee in the future

He also said he would force F. Jones to lose ten pounds for next season to see if he can regain his speed and exposion.

i heard a part of that ,some idiot called in and said something about getting rid of Witten and Romo and drafting Luck because they were not mentally tough.he actually said that.
I wouldn't go that far, but i can see his point Jason Witten is committing the same penalty's every game and Romo's mistakes are always getting a pass or a excuse (the line), but Felix Jones get's tackled coming out of the huddle and all of a sudden he's a average back this year. lol.

They're talking about the Troy Aikman interview that was on the am show, man it just makes you sick to hear Troy say the same things so many of us here say and watch Jerry completely dismiss these concepts.

I understand Jerry ignoring fans who are basically clueless, but surely Troy and Irvin, etc have Jerry's ear.................ugh, why do I bother wasting my breath?

Too bad assassinations are no longer fashionable. Stephen would be justified. :D

The only thing I would add to Norm's list, would be to promote Travis Bright to the active roster and start him over Davis at RG.

I dont think i have ever been 100% in agreement with Norm...but he certainly has his pulse on the situation.

Most of these are fairly obvious, though I dont believe making Choice the starting RB would do much, simply because the OL is the bigger (and IMO, the only) issue with the run game.

Would rather see Costa at C myself, but would like to see Bright get some PT at one of the guard spots.
