Not a single Cornerback INT this season

that seems like it has to be a record. i can't imagine an nfl team going an entire season without a cornerback picking a pass off. also, i'd be interested in the fewest turnovers created by a defense in a 16 game schedule. 8 seems like it has to be close to the record.

I'm just thinking out loud here (Read: rambling), but I think the Cowboys' lack of turnovers is due to opponent offenses being able to stay on schedule in terms of down and distance. Because the Cowboys don't defend the run well, opponents can pick up three or 4 yards on first down pretty easily. From there, it's not difficult to get into third and short. Opponent quarterbacks aren't normally tasked with making difficult throws into tight coverage.

Additionally, the Cowboys offense isn't finding the end zone often. Opponents have no need to press.

Opposing offenses aren't taking near as many chances downfield these days due to our inept offense. That explains quite a bit of it, but......I have one pet peeve: our defenders don't turn their heads around very often to look for the ball. There are a lot of times where an easy INT awaits them if only they turned around.

That coupled with more man coverage lessens the chances.

Cut them all, because we all know the only measure of defensive success is interceptions.

All true.

Having said that, 0 interceptions is an indictment on the quality of the CBs.

Zero. In 12 games. Our measly 6 INTs come from Heath (2), Wilcox, Lee, McClain, and Hardy.

Clairborne none. Carr none. Jones none. Nobody none.

That is horribad.

Jones plays more safety than CB and typically draws special assignments in taking on TEs which he has done a good on.

While this is disturbing, the offense's lack of production is a factor here. Hard to get turnovers when you never have a lead.

This plays a huge part IMO. That and the loose coverage which I think points to a lack of speed in the secondary.

It plays a huge part in a fewer than anticipated number of interceptions. It doesn't really explain ZERO.

In there defense it seems like we have around 12 drops, with maybe 4 of those that could have been pick 6's.

You feel my pain. The Skins had WR converted to DB that were playing better than our 1st rounders...not including Byron.

I don't think it's speed.
I think it's talent. Knowing how to position yourself and defend a receiver.

We need to cut our entire offensive too. They don't have any INT's either...
