Carr hasn't had one in two years. Can't wait for that bum and his contract to be gone

Remember before they even played a down, him and Mo called themselves No Fly Zone? That was cute. Them 2 have been a disaster.

Dallas has the 5th ranked pass defense in the NFL.

But yeah let's just cut everybody.

Carr hasn't had an interception since 2013. On top of that he only has 12 pass deflections. Mind you he is a starter that has an average salary of more than 10 million a year.

I can't even begin to understand how a CFL caliber player continues to start for the team, let alone remain in the NFL.

Opposing offenses aren't taking near as many chances downfield these days due to our inept offense. That explains quite a bit of it, but......I have one pet peeve: our defenders don't turn their heads around very often to look for the ball. There are a lot of times where an easy INT awaits them if only they turned around.

That coupled with more man coverage lessens the chances.

This! I get so pissed when they're chasing the wide receiver and never turn to look. Every other CB seems to, and we don't. Watch the receiver's eyes or tendencies and turn towards the freakin ball. What is Henderson teaching the DB's?

Think about this Terence Newman has 3 int's this season and Pacman Jones has 2. Since both players left the Cowboys they have 17 int's between them.

I see them at 16th by passer rating which is probably the best indicator. Yes they are 5th in yards allowed.

If you think that's bad, imagine your team going more than a full season without a WR catching a touchdown. In this day and age that's unthinkable.

How is that the best indicator? Because it proves a point?

Cousins had a 100+ rating against us but I am sure you are not finding the Commander fans talking about how good he was. Tannehill had a 90+ rating against us and he was awful.

Percy's countless passer rating stats have brainwashed many here.

There would be interceptions if they knew how to catch a damn football.

I wonder if that isn't a function of the defensive scheme... keeping everything in front of them and limiting big plays? bend don't break?

It's a indicator not necessarily the best and that goes for yards as well, the point still is that we have an average to good secondary regardless.

This thread is way over the top.

Yeah that kinds of skews the passer rating argument.

That's a ridiculous stat. This off-season we need to concentrate on corners that can play the football, much to Risens chagrin.

Has a team ever gone an entire season with our a CB int?

that seems like it has to be a record. i can't imagine an nfl team going an entire season without a cornerback picking a pass off. also, i'd be interested in the fewest turnovers created by a defense in a 16 game schedule. 8 seems like it has to be close to the record.

Actually it's 11. Colts 1982.

Let's face it.

Not only do our corners suck, we also don't run a scheme that puts us in position to make plays.

We play a straight up D, and just force QBs to be accurate.

We don't try to make plays by being deceptive.

Coaching staff and talent is ***

Zero. In 12 games. Our measly 6 INTs come from Heath (2), Wilcox, Lee, McClain, and Hardy.

Clairborne none. Carr none. Jones none. Nobody none.

That is horribad.

You get more ints when you blitz. Now that we are doing that, I bet we see some.

I like QB rating because it's a supermetric that includes other useful metrics including completion percentage, yards per attempt, touchdowns per attempt, and interceptions per attempt.

It's certainly not perfect, however, it seems more useful than yards by itself.
