Dak may not be elite, but he is good enough. I think we are only a few players away from being in the thick of things next year. They are: bolstering the oline, and dline,Safety and another wide receiver, and bring in a slew of running backs via draft, free agency, and undrafted. Big Mike, calling the plays in another year under Quinn and we will give everyone in the NFC a real hard time.

Dak is the only thing holding us back.

Dak is good when the run the ball effectively and he struggles when they don't.
- It's a simple formula that they failed to meet in the 49ers game.
- They didn't have an adequate RB once Pollard was injured.
- The run blocking scheme was also suspect. It required too many high degree of difficultly reach blocks.

We'll see how much was Dak and how much was the scheme.

Nobody would have heard of Joe Montana is he had been forced to play in the Air Coryell system instead of the West Coast offense.
didnt we say the same after Linehan?

Defense looked great and the offensive line protected Dak very well. Ceedee had a huge game. Pretty much everyone had a good game except Dak. Maybe Gallup
Defense didnt hold them under 12 points, they failed Dak and blew the game for us, poor guy has no help /s

Once Pollard went out, the second half we had virtually no running game at all, and it was all on Dak and he failed. When you get this far into the playoffs, you need a really good running game or a really good quarterback?

Not trying to be a smart azz, but if you took ANY team, and improved their offensive and defensive lines (roughly 40 or 45% of your starting 22), and then improved safety AND wide receiver, AND add a bunch of (presumably good) running backs....wouldn't MOST teams be "in the thick of things"?

I mean, if ANY team improved 70% of their starting 22, they'd be in good shape.

I don't disagree. They are not that far away. But they have to retain what they have or replace what they lose, and add a few quality players on the DL and at WR.
