He is good enough if and only if they go all in, free up a ton of money and get way more help. They wont so no hes not good enough as the team is currently constructed

We'll see how much was Dak and how much was the scheme.

Nobody would have heard of Joe Montana is he had been forced to play in the Air Coryell system instead of the West Coast offense.
I find it annoying that so many fans want to credit Moore with the recent regular season success as a top offense, but Dak played no part in that, yet Dak is responsible for not beating SF the past two years in the playoffs while Moore gets no responsibility. You’d think the OC and QB would go hand in hand regarding any success or failure.

Dak may not be elite, but he is good enough. I think we are only a few players away from being in the thick of things next year. They are: bolstering the oline, and dline,Safety and another wide receiver, and bring in a slew of running backs via draft, free agency, and undrafted. Big Mike, calling the plays in another year under Quinn and we will give everyone in the NFC a real hard time.
Things is the Cowboys are going to lose good players and draft their replacements, therefore never truly adding, swapping out players.

That line is so stale.

Maybe we should start a comparison thread.
  • Is Dak a worse QB than Zeke is a RB?
  • Is Dak a worse QB than Gallup is a WR?
  • Is Dak a worse QB than McGovern is a G?
  • Is Dak a worse QB than Maher is a K?
  • Is Dak a worse QB than Brown, Joseph, and Wright are CBs?
  • Is Dak a worse QB than our DTs are DTs?
Maybe we can get all of this out of the way with such a poll.
Or Dak sucks just because some posters say he does

Dak is good when the run the ball effectively and he struggles when they don't.
- It's a simple formula that they failed to meet in the 49ers game.
- They didn't have an adequate RB once Pollard was injured.
- The run blocking scheme was also suspect. It required too many high degree of difficultly reach blocks.
I was more critical of OL than rb , we know Zeke is not pollard but even pollard was not doing much , except couple of breakaway runs.
If we had a way to adjust the scheme to get body on body and run block we could have run with Zeke and optioned Dak , we could have kept some drives alive.

we're close.
and since mccarthy has been here this team has improved.
i love his rookie classes.
i wish they would use their f/a strategery on higher end f/a's.
not a whole group...just 1 or 2 specific targets to fill specific needs.
but this team is close.
we're just not there yet.

If Dallas somehow managed to comeback and beat SF they still weren’t beating Philly with Hurts at 100%.

Watch Jerry this offseason. This team has peaked and he will be status quo. Jerry is fine with Dallas 9-12 wins and he can celebrate the full stadium and bank roll.

Jerry is crafting the script now. Get ready!
You were dead on.

Not trying to be a smart azz, but if you took ANY team, and improved their offensive and defensive lines (roughly 40 or 45% of your starting 22), and then improved safety AND wide receiver, AND add a bunch of (presumably good) running backs....wouldn't MOST teams be "in the thick of things"?

I mean, if ANY team improved 70% of their starting 22, they'd be in good shape.
In the 49ers game, they only needed:
Better route combos & route running.
A legit #2 or #1B type WR.
Pollard healthy.

Defense looked great and the offensive line protected Dak very well. Ceedee had a huge game. Pretty much everyone had a good game except Dak. Maybe Gallup
Lol! What exactly were you watching? The RBs had a whopping 46 yards between them in a game we needed at least 120 to have a reasonable expectation of winning. Hilton had 1 rec. Shultz had a whopping 27 yards. Take away the 45 yard rec, Lamb had 73 yards on 9 rec. almost 4 yards below his season average! They took away the intermediate routes with their cover 2 zone because they were able to stop the run game with their front 4!

If we had those things what makes you think we still wouldn't have lost?

Absolutely.

Anyone who thinks we ARE far from challenging is ignoring reality.

Consecutive 12 win seasons and a couple plays away from a conference championship appearance IS challenging.

And let’s see-
We swept the Giants (a playoff team), beat last years SB winners with our backup QB, crushed the Vikings (another playoff team), dropped a 40 burger on the Eagles when we beat them in December, beat the Bengals with our backup QB, and literally retired the GOAT QB in the playoffs.

Objectively speaking, the Cowboys are absolutely “in the mix” as far as the leagues’ top teams are concerned.

Reviewing the All-22 game footage...

The fact that Dak's win rate is over 95% when:
Cowboys rush for over 100 with > 4.5 ypc
Opponent rushes for less than 140.

But what makes you think the 49ers wouldn't have shut it down? Everyone in here agrees the 49ers defense is better than ours, but our defense shutdown CMac, their legitimate 1b receiver, their superior scheme. Dak just tried to force throws when he didn't need to
