D still needs another good DT to go with Hankins (if and should be resigned) and another CB and could use another LB.
Yep we're close with Dak. All new coaches and bring in a totally new team and we'll only be one player away: Dak's replacement.Dak may not be elite, but he is good enough. I think we are only a few players away from being in the thick of things next year. They are: bolstering the oline, and dline,Safety and another wide receiver, and bring in a slew of running backs via draft, free agency, and undrafted. Big Mike, calling the plays in another year under Quinn and we will give everyone in the NFC a real hard time.
Next season we play a brutal schedule. I doubt we'll even make the playoffs.Dak may not be elite, but he is good enough. True and since 2016 it has showed up in seasons at diferent times, thats why the Coach change is the first lever to pull. I can change the OC and see the results and be in the same position next year that i would be if i dumped that QB contract this year...this season Dakota was easy to project. Every other game he was pretty good.
inconsistency has been his issue.
They're already challenging. Losing pollard lost the seasonDak may not be elite, but he is good enough. I think we are only a few players away from being in the thick of things next year. I was thinking along the same lines!!!!!!!!!!!!Not trying to be a smart azz, but if you took ANY team, and improved their offensive and defensive lines (roughly 40 or 45% of your starting 22), and then improved safety AND wide receiver, AND add a bunch of (presumably good) running backs....wouldn't MOST teams be "in the thick of things"?
I mean, if ANY team improved 70% of their starting 22, they'd be in good shape.
How many years of good enough? Dak has 7 years under belt and can’t hit a crossing pattern 50% of the time! Yet all those coaches under Jerry will not tell Jerry he is fricken wrong about Dak. So buckle up for another good enough season until Jerry retires and takes family with him.Dak may not be elite, but he is good enough. It blows my mind that any fan actually defends Jerry. It's like looking at mustard, and refusing to believe it's not ketchup. Was wondering how long it was gonna take Jerry's fan club to come to his defense.
On the cusp of what though? Climbing out or falling further in? Hanging on the edge for another year, or 10? (depending how long Dak is here possibly)We are right on the cusp.
They have 20 free agents. Deciding who to pay, and how much, is going to take some work. Along with the rookies they bring in this team will look different. That's why these playoff losses hurt. You have to go back and start all over again, just to earn another shot. Every year some teams fall out of the playoffs and new ones get in.Dak may not be elite, but he is good enough.
