They dont even know how to utilize what they have now, Murray can make you pay outta the backfield and in the air...a player like this would add NOTHING....we dont need anything on offense besides lineman (or a QB if a good one falls later)...after the defensive side is addressed.

This team still needs upgrades on offense too. If Murray gets hurt this team will struggle to run with Dunbar and Randle. They still need to get another wr to replace Miles and they could use another Guard to compete with Bernadeu and Leary.

I said a lineman (on O) and I think that helps the run...if they ever decide to run... As far as Miles...he isnt gone yet and what exactly has he done in the last 2 years to replace? Sure...we need things, but they shouldnt be the priority, nor is it possible to address ALL the whole this offseason.

Whether it be a top 3 round draft pick or someone that's out there in FA, after watching some Lions tape, it's apparent that we need to get a more stable version of Dunbar. Between his injuries and fumbling issues, I don't think he can be counted on.

Watching Reggie Bush in the Lions offense makes that system very difficult to stop. I think it'd really help free up the TE's since linebackers and safeties would have to account for our backfield on pass plays.

Everyone has been talking about getting another 1B type receiver opposite Dez, and I think Kelvin Benjamin would be great, BUT if not him, then give me a Reggie Bush/Tavon Austin type guy.

I don't want a 6'1, 195 WR. Terrence Williams gives us that and even more so.. We need a MONSTER either coming out of the backfield or the guy out wide.
You can get another Lance Dunbar type without the fumbling/injury issues in the 4th round or later.

It all depends on focus. Nobody is saying pass up offensive upgrades, but the depth and gravity of the talent deficit on defense cannot be ignored any longer by taking peripheral players.

Just like how the offensive line suffered for years as we took change of pace running backs and 2nd string tight ends, the defense will continue to suffer if we keep taking cornerbacks.

Improve the team at the line, where the simply body count dictates it. We are going lose Hatcher and we should lose Spencer. If we count on the miracle Crawford and Ben Bass returns, we are more out of touch than I ever imagined.

It is funny to use Reggie Bush as a comparison considering he misses playing time due to injuries and has issues fumbling the ball. Also, Dallas scored more points than the Lions. If Bush was all that impactful how come Detroit couldn't score as many points as Dallas?

Lance Dunbar doesn't have to be Reggie Bush. Bush is the Lions starter. Dunbar is a back up. Anyone they bring in will be the back up to Murray. I don't think they should chase a big name FA back. There may be a lesser known FA back available and there will be backs they can get in the draft that can help the RB rotation. They don't need to find one in the first 3 rounds to do so. They can find good backs in the 4th or 5th.

I'd rather fix the defense first. I hate waking up on game day and wondering if we score 30+ points if that will be enough to win and knowing if we don't we likely lose.

They'll try and do something with the offense. They have to make a decision on Miles. They have to know Murray and Dunbar can play. They'll be looking at picking up a WR or two late or an UDFA or cheap FA. They will address either FB and/or F and H Back. They'll decide on depth on the OL, Leary's knees, whether Weems and Parnell can play, and be on the lookout for a C/G.

But they'll have to spend a lot more time on defense. Not going to rattle all that off which you know well anyway. Ware, Spencer and Hatcher are on their minds.

this team needs work on defensive line and safety position, that is where our focus needs to be first....

Exactly. We could draft Emmitt Smith and Walter Paytons love child and it still wouldn't do us any good if we don't fix our defense.

He's also fumbled when healthy. Outside the Raiders game, he hasn't shown the ability to be consistent

Reggie Bush
2013 Fumbles 5 Lost 4
2012 Fumbles 4 Lost 2
2011 Fumbles 4 Lost 2
2010 Fumbles 2 Lost 1
2009 Fumbles 4 Lost 2
2008 Fumbles 3 Lost 2
2007 Fumbles 8 Lost 3
2006 Fumbles 2 Lost 2

DeAnthony Thomas might fit the bill BUT we need to spend 2 of our top 3 picks on d-line/pass rushers.

Screw that. We've spent too much on backs. Lets just say, "they ain't what they use to be." Backs can be found under a rock, in a house, under a mouse, etc.

Demarco is a beast. Just keep him healthy.

I know he's not a burner but DeMarco Murray must be accounted for in coverage. It's not like the guy is a poor receiver.

I agree, If he can stay healthy he can be deadly. And, if he does and we don't use him, he's gonna go some place that will.

Lance Dunbar is that type of weapon for us... No need to invest another draft pick in something you already have on the roster, just use him.

It will be tough for a new RB to make the roster. They like Tanner on special teams, and Murray, Dunbar and Randle are locks.
