its the scheme. Maybe a different OC but i swear this still looks a lot like garretts offensive scheme. Our offense suck at getting our playmakers the ball. Seems like we run the 90s offense. Corners look to know what we are going to run WR route wise. WR's has to win on talent and route running. We don't scheme the offense around our players we fit the players into the scheme.

I'm on the fence. He could be another Laurent Robinson type who flourishes because of all the others getting attention. Who knows. Time will tell. I don't think he's strong enough yet to be a legit 2 playing on the outside. Scouts have already said that's how he goes missing. Does not have the strength to get off the corners and into his routes.

He definitely has the talent, but he is far too often not a factor in the offense. He seems to be passive at times. Besides, he's really the third receiver on this team, as Witten is the #2 option.

I'm sold with him as the #2.

He is doing exactly what a #2 in this type of offense is going to do.

I mean do you remember all those games where Harper had 8 catches a game? What? You don't?

That's right because it's rarely going to happen when you're on a run first team who has a dominate #1 WR and a damn great TE as well. Where do you people think they're going to get the plays to give to Williams or any other #2 WR?

Dallas is going to feed Murray the ball. After that you try and get the ball to Dez as much as possible.

What's left, which will not be a ton btw, is going to be spread out between Beasley, Williams, Witten, Dunbar, Murray (In the passing game), Escobar, Hanna, etc.

If he finishes the season with 40 grabs then he's done a damn fine job opposite Dez Bryant.

Just as a matter of reference for this type of offense in Dallas history....Harper's best year he had 36 catches. That's his best year for catches.

36 for 777 yards and 5 TDs.

His best overall year he had 33 catches for 821 yards and 8 TDs.

So, yeah, Williams is doing standard for a #2 WR in a run oriented offense.

Now if you're wanting an all out passing attack then, yeah, your #2 WR better be putting up big numbers but this isn't a run and shoot, or 50+ passes per game offense. Thank God for that.

Am I the only one not completely sold on him being a legit #2? Considering the attention being shown to Dez and the run game by every team I think this guy should be good for 5-7 catches a game but sometimes he seems like a nonfactor.

5 or 7 catches a game? when the RB is getting 25 carries, Dez and Witten are main weapons then the ball being spread around to Williams, Harris, Beasley, Dunbar, Randle and Escobar? Williams has 6 TD grabs this season thus far and has made some very big plays for this team.
