Not sure we need to resign Hardy

Brilliant. Lets suspend Crawford and DLaw for next season and increase their value.

This is freaking stupid. I know you were trying to be clever, but you failed miserably.

If you check the tape, Hardy was part of the team that "just does not get to the QB". That translates into less money, not more.

Hardy got the franchise tag two years ago because he was coming off a 15 sack season. He got a contract this year that was only 2 million dollars in guarantees and LTBE incentives. There is zero chance he will get paid Franchise Tag money for the JJ Watt level of play when he is two years removed from a double digit sack season.

Dallas was willing to give him up to 13.1 million dollars for 2015. 13.1. That's less than 2 million away from JJ WattFranchiseTag money, and that was after he just spent a whole year doing nothing. On what planet does it make sense that Hardy is not going to ask for more than that? And the only reason Dallas got him for that cheap is because everyone else was scared off. Well, that's had time to die down and teams are just as hungry for pass rushers this year than they were last year, or the year before, or the year before.

Keep dreaming that he's going to take 3 million dollars a year or whatever you guys think because he should be grateful to the cowboys or because he "only" got 6 sacks in 11 games or whatever nonsense.

The only way Greg Hardy is going to stay a Cowboy is if Jerry spends big money to keep him. And i'm not sure they should, given the state of this franchise. It's not one or two players away. it's closer to a rebuild.

Except that Murray wanted to be over paid because he thought he was an elite RB especially coming off his big year. Hardy won't be in the same situation.

Murray didn't 'want' to get overpaid. He wanted what the market would bear for a 26 year old coming off AP Offensive POY. Even at 8m that was barely Top 5 money. Other RBs are getting 12-14m.

Hardy is in the exact same boat. A top talent that has question marks that won't come close to top dollar.

Hardy is an eyelash from being out of the league. He had a down year and even the team that took a big chance on him has cooled their interest. He is not going to get the 13m tag money again.

He will have to basically go year to year with incentive laden deals unless he agree to a very team friendly deal to stay in DAL and avoid the FA circus and spotlight. A new town brings new stories, new reporters, new outrage and new judgements. It will interesting to see how it plays out

If his price is reasonable, you absolutely do it. This dude has been out over a year, got in a training camp, then had to sit out 4 games of the season. That's a lot to ask for anyone.

He may not have had the consistent impact he initially had, but I guarantee you D coordinators accounted for him on film in preparation for us. Well, as he's "accounted for" players like Tank Lawrence got a chance to eat.

Who's to say Tank plays as well as he did with so much attention on Hardy? I'm too lazy to look it up, but how many of Tank's 8 sacks were with Hardy suspended or on the bench? Not trying to take away from Tank, but because we have an all pro calibre player on the field, it makes others better because it creates more one on one battles.

Now, we may go as high as the 2nd pick in the draft...if we draft Ohio State's Bosa, I'll pack Hardy's bags myself. Otherwise, you keep him...at a reasonable deal. Given his baggage and subpar season, I gotta believe it won't be too hard to re-sign him. But make no mistake, I want Hardy back and I'm sure Marinelli does too.

Bosa is a left end only. I don't think he has a lot to do with Hardy. Lawrence is performing well there, I leave that alone.

I'd sign him provided he comes reasonable. I wouldn't insult him, and I think we have invested some emotional capital in him already.

Gregory is not yet ready to be a full time starter in my opinion. I gave him a lot of slack for the high ankle thing, but I am not ready to take him out of "rotational" status. Plus, Hardy does have mobility and can move around.

That's exactly the point. Dallas didn't "give" him 13.1 Million, they gave him $578,125 with incentives that could pay him another 12.5 Million. Hardy could have been paid up to 4.7 Million for incentives based on sacks and has earned none of it.

In the real world that is known as the player's value going down, not up.

I've posted many times that I think Hardy will get about 5 Million per year guaranteed with incentives that could take him up to 12 MM per season. This is what I posted, in most of the years he would be guaranteed 6.5 Million per season after getting a 10 Million dollar signing bonus -

10 Million Signing Bonus
2.5 Million Guaranteed Salary for 4 years
Roster bonus of 4 Million each in years 2 - 4
Pro Bowl and Performance Incentives of 5 Million each year in years 2 - 4
Voidable 5th year to stretch the cap hit.

Maybe it's your head that was in the sand...no conviction and his record was expunged...bit go back to your regularly scheduled whining.

A bench conviction and dismissed on appeal. Bloody misinformed Yank you are, mate!
Don't get your Power Rangers undies tangled as you rush to defend your man crush, one who abuses women and horribly so. I see you did not dispute the bruises, payoff and hardy's stupidity about others' wives.
But I am glad you got off, bloke, on the dismissal, a technicallity as you yanks call it as you wipe your big brow.:D but that is the crowd with which you roll....
His record was expunged...LOL...thank your lucky charms for sleazy justice.

Technically two RBs are getting 12-14MM. Peterson and Lynch. One is an elite talent and the other is a big time TB for a SB champ.

Murray didn't deserve to be in that class.

And he isn't. He is getting 8m which is a looooooooooooooooooooooong way from 14m.

The Constitution is not a technicality, mate.

Please stop embarrassing yourself. Your mischaracterizations are intentional and juvenile.

Stop embarrassing yourself. Another Yank with no knowledge of his system!
Talk about mischaracterizations!!!!!
NOWHERE does the Constitution mention technicalities or convictions dropped on appeal. And neither does that document mention payoffs or abuse of women, though you would like that, eh, tough ruffian Yank?
Take a course in bloody American jurisprudence, or 8th-grade civics then come back and spar if and when your ignorance and/or embarrassment subside. I can box your ears in between spoonfuls of Yorkshire pudding, mate.
Yuk-yuk.

Still whining huh, just give it up....so you bought the hype, no one is perfect. He was cleared of all charges, really look it up. Record expunged too. If you understood the facts you might quit spinning your baseless drivel...lol

baseless not so much. Hardy was found guilty and only had the charges dropped after the fact when he asked for a jury trial and then paid the victim to go away. Why do people defend the guy? Just say "yeah, he's a terrible human being but I only care about what he does on the field" It's fine. You can do that. So many good football players are awful people and have done worse than Greg Hardy.

Personally, I don't want that piece of crap on any team I pull for, and fortunately I won't have to put up with it for much longer.

It is not even sparring with you. It is killing a mosquito with a sledgehammer.

You may have caught a re-run of Law and Order on the telly, but you have no idea about how NC's judicial system works. No one would use the phrase dropped on appeal if they did.

All charges were dropped before his only real trial ever began. I will chalk about your mistake to ignorance of the law.

What part of CONVICTED does your brain not comprehend, huh, bloke?????
YOU WERE EXPOSED LIKE A CHEAP ROLL OF FILM!!!
IMPUDENCE AND DENSE!!!!
