Not Trying To Get Ahead Of Ourselves But... What RB Does McFadden Remind You Of ?...

I saw OJ in his prime an I think this kid compares in style. Now I don't see the moves that OJ had but speedwise and smoothness seem comparable, even seems to have the ame type body build.

Its funny, I was watching DMF run and Im saying to myself "why does he run on the outside of his feet". Someone here mentioned that he is pigeon toed like the Juice...makes ense I guess.

This is going back a long time ago but I have seen the old NFL films of this guy and Mcfadden looks eerily similar in his running style, speed and the multi-purpose skills he has.

Gayle Sayers.

Wow, impressive

Maybe if he was in the Big 10... everyone knows the Big 10 is tougher in the trenches on running games :p:

well a current player i would compare him to is a much faster Larry Johnson...

I hope I will be forgiven for this.

He runs hard and has breakaway speed.

He can catch the ball out of the backfield or the slot.

He can pass the ball.

He will pick up blitzers.

Walter Payton.
Take this with a grain of salt from an LSU fan (btw, LSU & Arkansas are members of the SEC West division and play each other every year):

It's a favorable comparison, but Payton never had McFadden's speed.

I hope not. RS was a good runningback, but not considered a top prospect like McFadden who could be chosen #1 overall.

Who cares what kind of prospect Smith was coming out. The point is, he was one hell of a good running back during his time in the NFL.

Thanks for the input. It's interesting that some who saw O.J. play see him in McFadden. I agree it is not an exact comparison, (of course no two runners are exactly alike), but they look very similar to me in certain ways. It's hard to describe but I saw one run of McFadden and the way his legs kick out from the knee down as he was running looked just like O.J.

As for speed, O.J. was "The Juice". That guy could fly. I heard a scout saying on a recent NFL Network show that he looked at guys on film to see if their speed on film compared to their 40 time. He gave an example by showing a run by O.J. against the Steelers great "Steel Curtain" defense. He said 8 defenders started out in the frame chasing O. J. and just a few frames later no one else was in the picture. That's what kind of speed O.J. had. McFadden looks just as fast to me.

But nowhere near as good as McFadden will likely be.

I never compared their talent.

Only that he reminds me of Robert Smith. Same body style, and the both are speedsters with similar running styles.

I was going to say LaDanian Tomlinson. Maybe a little bit like Marshall Faulk with the combination of speed and power, although a little less wiggle.

Faulk was my other comparison but I couldn't remember him throwing the ball.

If the Hogs don't make it to a BCS bowl game next year you all can say "hey I knew that guy" when I'm on the news for my head exploding.

I'd say OJ or even Adrian Peterson. Dickerson was fast, but not that fast. McFadden has such rare unique speed and gets so much out of the smallest creases. I don't think we get him because Cleveland will somehow find a way to be good, but the kid is special.

YAKUZA

Dickerson was extremely fast. When he ran, he just glided. If you look at his break away runs....he looked so effortless. He looked like he was jogging in the park, instead of sprinting down the sideline, and he would leave the defenders like 20-30 yds behind him......Honestly, when I saw Dickerson break away it reminded me of when Secretariat would break loose, and coast, and still add break away distance

Dickerson was fast, not that fast....um ok:lmao2:
