Anyone else agree with me? I would love to see Miles Austin get the number 2 reciever spot. After that theres not much. I like Hurd but he always gets hurt. Stanback has a freak body but hasnt developed yet. I think this suddenly becomes a need. We have 11 draft picks, why dont we make a package for Robert Meachem. A 1st round pick in 07 I beileve and missed the entire season with a knee injury. In 08, he dominated in the preseason. When the season came along Payton went with the veterans Patten, Henderson, Colston and Lance Moore over Meachem. When Meachem had a chance he produced in limited opporunity. Thats one guy I would defintly inquire about. We might have something there. opinions

I agree... just not sure what the other piece would be. I still think JJ has the mindset that nothing more is really needed to this team to win and keeps focusing on how the Giants did it when no one thought they could.

With the cap situation (TO's dead money and JJ not wanting to spend more money), I just don't see another big name WR coming aboard especially with vets needed at the S, OL, and DT positions. Crayton isn't great, but with his paycheck, I see JJ thinking he, Austin and Williams will be just fine along with Hurd and some potential wr prospects from FA or the draft. The only other possible cheap replacements could come from the Rams releasing Holt, old heads Engram, Toomer, or Galloway; Curry, D. Williams, etc.

Boldin would be ideal, but too expensive. Malcontents like Chad Johnson, Braylon Edwards or Burress need not apply to a possible trade since I think JJ is also trying to better the image of his team.

I guess we will just have to stay tuned.

I think Harrison is done... attitude plus ability-wise. He just isn't into the game anymore and should hang it up. I don't see him signing with anyone.

A few names come to mind. How the pieces fit together I'm not yet sure but could Roy Williams (Oklahoma) be involved?

Less Likely
1. Braylon Edwards
2. Chad Ocho Cinco

If they are cut
1. Torry Holt

Walking the streets now
1. Marvin Harrison

I also get the strange feeling we may see an old face walk the halls for a visit.

Galloway.?.?

Out of all of them, I could definitely see Galloway return and play in a Terry Glen role opposite Roy Williams.

Austin has been more injury prone than Hurd.

My pick would be Holt.

He has already been released by the Rams, still has a couple of good years left, and shouldnt cost a freaking arm and a leg either.

Other than Holt, maybe Marvin Harrison???

I would like to see them both on the field at the same time. They're both decently fast and good route runners...I think two guys with their kind of slipperyness could give defenses fits.

Holt was released? Must have happened today.

And I know I will get blasted, but part of me would rather have Galloway here than Holt. Galloway is a real burner even at his age and it seems like Holt just doesn't have it anymore.

Holt has bad knees he won't last 8 games he's not the same player he was he's just a name at this point

Harrison couldn't do anything with Manning throwing the ball in the same system he's been in since forever i really don't think he solved anything either

Plus with the cap hit from TO i doubt we could afford any of these guys even if they did have some game left.

It's all down hill from here we might as well start looking for a QB too now cause by the time we get all the pieces in place Romo will be an old man

What do you think his cap hit is? Is $680,000 really going to cripple us?

I'd rather have someone in the 5-6 year exp range myself but theres not alot out there unless you want to make an offer on a RFA.

I think Holt will be a draft day deal if he moves and I wonder if he'll try to go "home" to Carolina

I don't think Harrison has the wheels to fill a #2 spot for a season much less a #1 although playing on grass may help him some. I think he ends up calling it quits in the end.

How are we going to afford a WR when we still have to sign Ware yeah it's "only" 680k but we're also paying TO 9 mill this coming season even without him on the team that's almost 10mill locked up in a player who no longer on the team who plays a position that is now our biggest need

Either get Anquan or trade up for Crabtree. If Jerry cant, he let this team down.

I don't agree. I personally think Roy W. can get it done if he really applies himself. He has shown flashes in Detroit of what he can do. He can easily be the #1 guy, he just needs to get in the game and be prepared. The secondary guys in Witten, Crayton, Austin will be able to perform enough to do the job they are there to do. However, I wouldn't mind a cheap vet like Galloway coming aboard in case the wrs can't do the job. Don't forget, Bennett is coming back with a year under his belt and we have three VERY capable RBs so the offense could possibly look much different than years past. I could easily see a Giant type of offense put in place which would work fine with the pieces that the Boys have currently.

I could see that too, the kind of offense they had once without Plax that is :bang2:

Adam said even if we give Ware a Haynsworth type deal it would still leave us 8+mil under the cap. Plenty of room to do some thing if we wanted and that does not include money we would get by releasing Roy Williams.
