In truth I think Felix will play some WR opposite Roy and Austin.

I'm thinking he comes out of a 2 back set and motions a lot as well as being set out wide, too. I think they'll use both plus play action with him up the middle. If the OL can give Romo time I think the latter could really be a great play for Felix and us.

We need some speed at WR, a short term incentive laden deal for Galloway sounds about right.

Wish we could get a healthy Deon Branch-type of wideout to complement our current guys.

I also get the strange feeling we may see an old face walk the halls for a visit.

Galloway.?.?
If that happens, it better be for free. He owes us.

he atleast will fight for the ball. but no thanks

yeah we wouldn't want to start that trend :laugh2:

It would make Crayton and Roy feel pretty confused

Anyone else agree with me? I would love to see Miles Austin get the number 2 reciever spot. After that theres not much. I like Hurd but he always gets hurt. Stanback has a freak body but hasnt developed yet. I think this suddenly becomes a need. We have 11 draft picks, why dont we make a package for Robert Meachem. A 1st round pick in 07 I beileve and missed the entire season with a knee injury. In 08, he dominated in the preseason. When the season came along Payton went with the veterans Patten, Henderson, Colston and Lance Moore over Meachem. When Meachem had a chance he produced in limited opporunity. Thats one guy I would defintly inquire about. We might have something there. opinions

no trades, we draft a wide out...Do you know who also "dominated" last pre-season? The 0-16 Detroit Lions went 4-0 in pre-season...

Irony.

With TO, the Roy Williams trade, sacrifice, of a #1 pick, didn't seem all too bad of a price to pay. But take TO out of the equation, see what we still need at the position, and I bet we could get better in this year's draft with just a little bit of help. Alone though, no way is Roy Williams worth the price we paid for him.

A trade which, now, needs to be scrutinized to no end. For not only does this kid lack talent, he lacks desire and is quickly becoming in our lockeroom that which TO couldn't become in 3 years, a loud mouth cancer.

It is not a need in any way shape or form; drafting a young guy to groom is fine getting a solid vet to go with the core is not a bad idea but by no way is it a major need

A need is depth at LB several spots and the safety position

Also I say DT depth is a major need before WR

It's funny how you just brought up Meachem. I saw something about him in rotoworld news today.

Robert Meachem-WR- Saints Mar. 5 - 11:59 a.m. et
Saints beat writer Jeff Duncan believes that Robert Meachem is "destined to be the biggest bust of the (Sean) Payton era."
Harsh words, but Duncan cites Meachem's "mental mistakes" and a loss of trust from the coaching staff and teammates. Devery Henderson got a four year contract, so dynasty leaguers shouldn't expect anything from Meachem in the near future. Perhaps the Saints will put him on the trade block.

Oh yeah, our offense could be so much more potent if we rely on our 3 backs the way they should be relied on. TO is gone, but Choice and Felix will pick up the yards that we used to force balls to #81.

No more force feeding balls to Owens. Romo can actually make his progressions across the field like he did when he first started here. Owens got into his head too much, and made Romo think of him first rather than hitting the open man.

Hurd said it best today.

Out of all of them, I could definitely see Galloway return and play in a Terry Glen role opposite Roy Williams.

That would be a good acquisition but not long term. Only way to do that is wait. I'll give Galloway $2.5-$3 million to play 1 season with an option for a 2nd. Still runs like a kid.

Austin has deep speed and showed real flashes of ability prior to his injury. So he will be the #2 guy at camp with Crayton at #3 with Hurd as the primary backup. At this point I expect NOTHING from Stanback.
I do not see the boys trying to trade up for any WRs THIS year- they will try ROy at 1 and see how things work out. Plus I see Felix getting some real looks as well catching the ball.

We almost had to make that trade due to how thin we where at WR the irony is we're not in much worse shape then we where just a year ago
