Chris is Chris Horwendel the editor of NFLDraftBlitz.com. He is a big Eagles fan and have been doing mock and debating football with him for at least 8 years now.

I thought you guys would get a kick out of this note he dropped me... lol.

I just finished the 2008 7-round mock that's going to be posted tomorrow. So yeah it took me a long time to do, obviously.... but you wouldn't believe how much extra time was wasted looking for power rankings that didn't have the Browns at the bottom of the list. It kills me to give the Cowboys the ******* first pick in the draft and the right to pick McFadden. But I just couldn't find a single power rankings that didn't have Cleveland at the bottom.

So basically, I hate you.

Before we get all giddy and cream ourselves...

Wimbley had a good rookie year. He should be better with his second year of development.

Sean Jones and Brodney Pool are a nice young S tandem. Leigh Bodden, when healthy, is a very good CB. Eric Wright had 1st round talent.

Andra Davis is a pretty solid LB and DQwell Jackson is a solid prospect for them as well.

Offensively, Braylon is coming back, Winslow began to show signs last year, their OL should be improved with Steinbach and Thomas.

Frye will have another year of experience if he starts.

#1 is far from a lock.

They could win 6 games next year. And I don't see how the Browns are worse than the Raiders.

I do see a number one pick in our future, but only if we are able to package our pick (high 20's) with theirs (low single digits). They will be bad, but not the worst.

I remember that kind of thinking when Dallas had the Bills #1 pick and everybody was thinking the same thing...

Nothing is imminent and nobody here has crystal balls...

Um, yeah, no pun intended ;-)

The Raiders were legitimately good defensively last year. If they just get an ok offense (unlikely, but possible), they could get close to .500.

Too late. I been searching the innertubes this morning, searching and searching and searching. continuing on....

I think their defense will definitely step it up. They still have problems along the Dline, and the secondary isn't great, but they've got some prospects.

Offensively, Braylon is coming back, Winslow began to show signs last year, their OL should be improved with Steinbach and Thomas.

OL improvement is tricky. Just signing guys often takes at least a year to work fully. They still don't have a RB of any quality, Lewis is not that guy anymore.

Frye will have another year of experience if he starts.

Really didn't see anything that makes me think this matters. Experience only really works for guys with talent. Frye seems more of a Tim Rattay than anything. I wager he stays at the same level of "suck" to "mediocre" for his entire career.

And if he struggles, they'll toss Brady in there pretty quick, to keep the fans coming.

#1 is far from a lock.

Far? No. It's unlikely, but it's ont a big stretch. That's a bad team, and it appears snake-bitten, with a loser attitude. Arizona has talent, too - there's just something there that makes them suck.

They could win 6 games next year. And I don't see how the Browns are worse than the Raiders.

At the very least, the Raiders have shown skill on the defensive side of the ball. Where has Cleveland shown genuine talent and progress? OLB and TE? That's not winning many games. They've got horrid talent at the two most critical positions, QB and RB. They're going to be bad.

Consider yourself creamed.

Does it trouble anyone that somebody is putting together a 7 round mock 2008 draft? Isn't that an excercise in futility?

Even a one round mock draft is futile at this point. If you're going to do it and have enough time on your hands, you might as well do the whole thing. People will definitely read it.

I saw one that had the Redsk*ns as the worst team in the league next year... which would be the next best thing to Cleveland (and pehaps even better).

I guess I shouldn't share my 7 round 2009 Mock with with the supplemental report of 15 udfas to each of 32 teams?

I wouldn't sell Kiffin short -- he might not be a huge name -- and certainly it is pretty weird to hire a college coordinator to be your HC (but really, USC runs a very pro-style game with lots of talented players so the difference isn't that big) - but the kid is going to bring some good stuff to the Raiders.

Also keep in mind that the Raiders stank last year at least partly because their coaching staff was so awful -- Shell and Walsh were so out of touch and the players knew it. That offense has a hell of a lot of talent that hasn't been in a good situation.

I don't think they'll be awesome next year but they aren't going to be the worst team in the league.

I can see a one rounder -- that makes sense as it can give a sense as to who to watch for next year -- but all 7 rounds?

Sorry - don't see it.

They're terrible in two key positions - quarterback and running back.

Not to mention how they're completely snake-bitten by bad luck.

I can't see them finishing better than 4th in their own division for starters and their out of conference schedule looks tough as well:

Sep 9Pittsburgh Loss
Sep 16Cincinnati Loss
Sep 23@Oakland Win?
Sep 30Baltimore Loss
Oct 7@New England Loss
Oct 14Miami Win?
Week 7BYE
Oct 28@St. Louis Loss
Nov 4Seattle Loss
Nov 11@Pittsburgh Loss
Nov 18@Baltimore Loss
Nov 25Houston Win?
Dec 2@Arizona Loss
Dec 9@N.Y. Jets Loss
Dec 16Buffalo Loss
Dec 23@Cincinnati Loss
Dec 30San Francisco Loss

I see 4 wins at best for the Browns - which is music to a Cowboys fan's ears!

And who would have thought that Drew Bledsoe would lead the Bills to 8-2 over their last 10 games, getting sacked only 14 times in those 10 games, back in 2004?
