I guarantee Mingo will not get cut off this team.. He was here 1/2 a season they're not going to make a trade like that and not give him a full season to either prove he's worth being here or he's worth not keeping next year they will not cut him it just won't happen they will go long on receivers before they do that maybe they'll go short on tight ends who knows typically I believe they might keep 6 on the active roster as far as the 53 and then they're going to still have one or maybe two on the practice squad but anybody here that thinks he won't make the team the man got 1/2 a season people it doesn't even make common sense that he won't get a chance in a new offense with a new team to see what he can do during the regular season and throughout practices in the whole entire year....Cowboys WR depth is sneakily good this year going into camp after the addition of Pickens. If Holden or Flournoy outperform Mingo in camp I doubt for a second the Cowboys are keeping Mingo. The issue with Mingo is that he is running out of development time having just two years left on his rookie deal. If he isnt ready to contribute and younger guys are the Cowboys are going to invest their time into working with a guy like Holden. The roster math is not Mingos friend this year.
Tolbert is an absolute lock at number three doesn't matter who's on this team he already earned it he was close to a number 2 he put a very valid numbers to be the number three that's it turpin will get number four he'll get worked into the offense I hope they use him better but those four spots and the depth chart are locked...Who would be the 3rd? kavontae turpin or Tolbert
Nobody thinks it’s a good trade here.
But people have a sense of reality that after trading a 4th for a guy with 2 years left on his rookie deal is pretty much a lock on the 53. They aren’t cutting him in less than a year.
Trade sucked. But he’s a Cowboy in 2025
Honestly, I haven't seen one fan/poster who agreed with the trade.Only homers on this site think otherwise.
Beat me to it .......Nobody thinks it’s a good trade here.
Holden, Cropper, Campbell, Flournoy, Harmon and Brooks are all better prospects.Cowboys WR depth is sneakily good this year going into camp after the addition of Pickens. Seems like these players know how to turn it on in a contract year, maybe that's the goal, go great in a contract year to earn that big pay day1 game on, 1 game off.......we need players to show up every week.
For the record, I believe he will good in a contract year, I'm just jaded and expect us to do the wrong thing these days
Ideally Mingo balls out in camp and its not even a discussion. The issue is you have most likely 4 players already guaranteed roster spots assuming good health:I guarantee Mingo will not get cut off this team.. He was here 1/2 a season they're not going to make a trade like that and not give him a full season to either prove he's worth being here or he's worth not keeping next year they will not cut him it just won't happen they will go long on receivers before they do that maybe they'll go short on tight ends who knows typically I believe they might keep 6 on the active roster as far as the 53 and then they're going to still have one or maybe two on the practice squad but anybody here that thinks he won't make the team the man got 1/2 a season people it doesn't even make common sense that he won't get a chance in a new offense with a new team to see what he can do during the regular season and throughout practices in the whole entire year....
It's a bonus if it's deep but anybody who thinks that he's getting cut like in this article anybody who thinks he won't make the team he'd have to be absolutely downright horrible and I mean horrible like drop every pass thrown to him and probably get pulled over for a DUI and slapped a police officer then he might get cut from the team for sure lol
He had 43 catches for 418 yards as a rookie. His 2nd year he had a new coaching staff that traded him to the Cowboys. This is only his 3rd season. This guy has been in the NFL awhile now, we know what he is. If he’s on the team it’s because Jerry gave up a 4th round pick and Jerry’s ego.
I'm skeptical to go that far just because of his measurables, but I can't really say that you're wrong either. Based on the tape alone I don't think Mingo plays as big or as fast as he is listed. He has to show something early in camp this year IMO....Going into year 3 you cant still live off the potential label.Holden, Cropper, Campbell, Flournoy, Harmon and Brooks are all better prospects.
Seth Williams is also likely a better player.
I have Josh Kelly and Mingo neck and neck for that last place spot.
You would have to have a screw loose to believe any of that.I'm skeptical to go that far just because of his measurables, but I can't really say that you're wrong either. By the way, Seth Williams is a pretty good option too.
He has great body control, and would fit in nicely with the other players. IMO.
You'll probably see a committee approach to the 3rd WR. Tolbert/Turpin may split reps, and I think its likely the Cowboys play a lot of 2TE sets as well eat into that WR3 snaps. Then you also have to factor in a guy like Blue who may get some snaps as well.Who would be the 3rd? kavontae turpin or Tolbert
Tolbert and Pickens outside, with Lamb inside.Who would be the 3rd? kavontae turpin or Tolbert
