We need to fix both. Even with this bad defense, we should have had 2-3 more wins with an average HC. Our defense will likely be bad again next year and we need a coach that can do more to overcome it.

Well said!!!! Where is the hammer smilie when you need it.

only because the NBA's version of the Dallas Cowboys some how decided on another coach. Huh?????????????? 10 Championships! Ten! And I believe it is the standard to speak of potential head coaches that are not currently employed ala Gruden, Cowher and many more as being "coaches"

I know.

I just ignored the comment.

To be honest, I don't know. But feeling a certain way about a coach, and being able to market that to a fan base are two different things.

The 100 fans that go to Jacksonville home games would laugh their arse off if the Jags hired Opie................................his horrendous game management is known league wide now thanks to Aikman tearing him up on national TV about it.

Let us think about it, how long did Landry go through the years without winning a SB?

Just saying..

Also let us think about the defenses we had the past 2 seasons.

Man if we had even an average defense this year we would be golden.

Funny how none of our other head coaches got the customary "well Landry to forever to win" excuse.

Campo only had 3 years, where was this "he needs more time" excuse for him?

Gailey made the playoffs both years he was head coach, where was the "he needs more time" excuse for him?

Wade won 2 division titles and a playoff game in 3 full seasons, where was the "he needs more time" excuse him?

Just saying I dont remember folks saying Landry took forever to win so these coaches need more time as well........................so why the hell should a head coach that cant even crack 500 coming up on year 4 get special treatment?

Rick Carlisle on Jason Garrett: "Few coaches in that situation would be able to do what he’s done."
Rich Carlisle is all business and is not prone to hyperbole.

It is very difficult to compare Tom Landry's early years with Jason Garrett's years. In today's NFL it is much easier to get a team turned around.

Note, I am not trying to argue for Garrett's firing as I believe it is already certain that he will be back.

It's because like it or not, and I don't like it, our fanbase is infused with about 50% bigtime crybabies who tear down every thing our team does as if they always know better than management. As a Jerry supporter even I have decided it should be time for him to delegate another GM as he had his run, but say it once not everyday. Some of the posters here have an agenda where they believe Steven and Jerry are reading this forum and will somehow change or take the forums advice. Problem could be that, as a football franchise these fans were born with a silver spoon that they used as their binky and now that some of the food has been taken away they complain. I'm saddened by the negativity although I do understand how my proposed generation and also old timers can get restless without any Super Bowl Rings in this millennium. Well, I'm the same with that feeling but I always have the Eagles to laugh at when it comes to the empty trophy case.

Campo was never a good HC in any way shape or form.

Gailey was OK.

Wade is not HC material. His teams do not play passionately for him. I strongly believe that the players played for the players under Wade.

It is true though, Landry was very close to getting canned/giving up then became one of the greatest HC in history.

I am not saying Garrett is perfect by any means, but I do believe THIS YEAR WE WOULD HAVE SOME POSTSEASON SUCCESS WITH A COMPETENT DEFENSE.
