Now comes the problem

The future will need a QB so by the time the team assembles a strong defense, it'll be time to look for the most important, and hardest to find, piece of the puzzle.

Drafting Murray from Georgia in the 3rd or 4th would not be a bad idea. We are in no real contention unless we get on some lucky Giants run of 07 or 11. So let's keep building in the trenches on both sides of the ball and ride this horrible Romo contract out and start grooming the next QB.

At some point in time, you must have faith in your drafting and player development. To that end, expect Tyrone Crawford to be major cog next season, for better or worse.

I guess if that's all there is to it.

I know it is not that easy but I will take a dominant defense with a bus driver over a bad/mediocre defense with a franchise QB everyday.

Not saying Wilson is a bus driver just yet but he may not be a franchise QB either.

I would be more than elated if Dallas went Dline with the 1st 3 rounds.

1st round - Barr ( Replace Ware)
2nd - Kony Ealy (LDE)
3rd - Best Def. Tackle

What? Its Seattle and everyone else.

The NFC is about as terrible as it gets. The AFC isn't far behind.

Better than us: Seattle, SF two best teams in the league reside in the NFC.

GB (beat us with backup qb), Arizona, NO, Chicago, Detroit and Philly.

Even if those teams are all better than Dallas, which I don't necessarily agree with, that doesn't mean the conference is a "beast." Dallas sucks. Right now in the NFC, other than Seattle, its about who sucks the least. Every team has such serious flaws that it would just take getting hot at the right time to get to the Super Bowl.

This is the plan that JJ has operated on since 2008 and how far has that gotten us? There's now way that you can say that the 49ers are not on the same level as Seattle, 3 NFC Championships in a row with 1 SB appearance, they split the regular season games and came within an outstanding play from Sherman of going to another one.

NO is better they had better record and beat us (49-17), Chicago is better they had an be equal record and beat us (45-28), Arizona better record in a tougher division (10-6), GB see previous post and Philly is only going to get better, lots of cap room to improve.

This Dline rebuild is going to take at least 2 years if done the right way, we're just going to have to be patient while it's being done.

What does Dallas do at DE?

Releasing Ware creates a bigger hole then the 3tech spot. Which probably gets filled by Melton. This draft isnt really big on DE after Clowney. A whole bunch of projects after him. The next that would considered passrushers are actually LBers.

true. so perhaps melton and hatcher.....but DE is an issue. do we consider Allen? if the price is right.

In truth if the right guy falls, that time might be now.

I don't think it is that big of a hole. Insert a stop gap until you draft a new DE. Ware's production last year was forgettable and replaceable.

and how good was our D last year? Think on that a little.

if you do not see that SF and Seattle are better teams its time to retake Football 101 and get your eyes checked.

This team is not competing for a Super Bowl no matter what for the next 2 years. There is way too many other issues besides Dline. Secondary is abysmal. Our best LB is made of glass.

Losing Ware means nothing. Even with him, we haven't went anywhere. Why is everyone freaking out? There needs to be a house cleaning. A new direction is needed in many areas.

I agree completely, especially after hearing Greg Ellis explain why at this point in his career Ware while still an amazing player isn't built for a 4-3 scheme. He predicted ware would struggle last year and that injury would be the major concern. Ware leaving is best for all parties.

I didn't say they aren't better good lord. I said "all" of those teams...meaning Zona, Det, Gb aren't necessarily better.

Learn how to read before throwing out insults all willy nilly.

Exactly. And I remember him saying that last year. But everyone just blew it off and said he was dumb. They just did not want to hear the truth.

I just heard Bill Polian on 103.3 and he said he would be very careful with Ware. And if it was him making the decision, it would just be a 2 year deal, very incentive based in regards to staying healthy and production. And in the range of 3.5 - 4million. I think he gets more than that by someone a little more desperate but I do respect his opinion. He was one of the best GMs ever.

They are reported to be interested in Ayers. I could see them also bringing in Wootton because he played DE for Marinelli in Chicago.

I prefer younger players, but Jared Allen would probably be a better option than Ware was for the Cowboys. He has been healthier, has more sacks in the past 3 years and is an experienced 4-3 DE.

I like Mike Neal from the Packers. He was miscast in their 3-4, IMO. He was at times playing as a 3-4 OLB at 6-3, 285.

Free Agents
27 Mike Neal
27 Corey Wootton
27 Matt Shaughnessy
28 Willie Young
28 Robert Ayers
30 Anthony Spencer
31 Justin Tuck
32 Jared Allen
32 Antonio Smith
33 Shaun Phillips
33 Jason Babin
34 Julius Peppers

Not that Broaddus is a guy to base decisions off of, but he has been saying on Twitter the team would do exactly that in FA by bringing in several mid level FAs for Marinelli to send in waves rather than putting all their eggs in one star player who can get hurt. If they add a couple of guys off your list and spend 2 of the top 3 draft picks the DLine looks entirely different.

I also think they sign either Melton or Hatcher for the 3 and bring Spencer back on an incentive based deal.
