Now comes the problem

Not that Broaddus is a guy to base decisions off of, but he has been saying on Twitter the team would do exactly that in FA by bringing in several mid level FAs for Marinelli to send in waves rather than putting all their eggs in one star player who can get hurt. If they add a couple of guys off your list and spend 2 of the top 3 draft picks the DLine looks entirely different.

I also think they sign either Melton or Hatcher for the 3 and bring Spencer back on an incentive based deal.

Yes, there have to be many good players between Ware at 12.25M and a bunch of street free agents at minimum wage (about 800k).

Let's say that Ware and his 2013 backup Everette Brown would have been 13M total for 2014. It would be better to have 2 legit NFL players at 6.5M each or 3 for about 4.5M each in place of 1 aging superstar and 1 fringe NFL player.

how bout what does Dallas do for a new line.....actually minus Sean Lee a front 7....might as well even throw in a safety or two...could even add a corner......ah hell, what the ****....I hate being a fan anymore and the idiot of a head coach is still here too

Sure they had a plan. It just didn't include every DL getting hurt.

Or having a secondary with any aptitude whatsoever to play a Cover 2. Or any more than a wish and a prayer that guys like Ware or Carter would be effective in a 4-3.

Look, normally teams dedicate at least ONE draft trying to get guys that fit a new defensive system before they switch to it. Jerry just decided everyone would be fine in it, despite drafting solely for a 3-4 defense for almost 10 years, and flipped the switch. This defense was not exactly slated for greatness before the DL bottom dropped out.
