I felt good about the play calling. They did run the ball more which was good. I also thought there was more vertical passing going on which is also good. If Dak got a confidence boost from that then that is a good thing. Considering the Eagles rested 18 of their 22 starters on both sides of the ball, I am not particularly happy with the starting offensive line. La'el Collins struggled a lot last night.
The defense was okay. They clearly missed Parsons who I think would have gotten at least 1 sack if not more and would have cut down some of those runs the Eagles had. The Eagles running game with backup offensive linemen was impressive. I think if they had run the ball every play the Cowboys would not have been able to stop them. What makes their running game so good is they get a blocker on every defender and he does his job, whether it is an offensive lineman or a WR. I was hoping someone on the Cowboys roster would lay the wood on those little RBs but it never really happened. On the other hand, they were using two OLmen to take out LVE which they would not be able to do if Parsons was playing.
I don't feel good about our kicker who keeps missing extra point kicks.
Otherwise what can we say about beating the Eagles second and 3rd string players? I was embarrassing that Dallas kept their first team in their for so long against the Eagles' practice squad players.
