I understand your dislike for the guy but you have to understand where I'm coming from. Sure, Gruden has his faults and he's not perfect...but that would apply to every head coach in the NFL. Each one has their own strengths and weaknesses.

My point is that this team, our team, has the talent right now to win a Super bowl. And we've had this talent for the last 3 seasons and each time they've come up empty. Wade was handed a Golden Goose and he's inspired it to only crap rotten eggs.

Had Gruden taken controll of these reins when Parcells quit, I would've bet my paycheck, house, pink slip & last beer in the fridge that he would've done better.

But it's all speculation now, isn't it?

I don't even dislike Gruden. Actually, he's a very entertaining guy. But I don't care about his scowling and yelling. I just see that in the five years after that first one where he literally knew the Raiders' plays, he threw in seasons of 7-9, 4-12, and 5-11.

And you say Wade has only crapped rotten eggs when his worst year was 9-7?

Maybe Gruden just forgot to lead in those years.

I know better than to debate this because you aren't changing your mind, but how can you say you *know* Gruden would've done better with what Parcells left? (And it's funny how we only got Superbowl talent the day Wade arrived... Not a month earlier when Parcells was coaching.)

Oh, that's right. A Youtube video of him.

Oh c'mon, you have to be better than that. Put that noodle of yours to work and read what I said. That youtube video was put here to attract the lowest common denominator. I honestly thought you were more intelligent than what you just wrote.

One more thing, if you're going to continue to use selective memory in your arguments against Gruden, then my one line responses from now on will be:

"Oh yea? Well at least he found a way to win a Superbowl!"

Suck on that for a bit (it's a lemon but it taste like strawberries - yea right).

CC, I think we should just agree to disagree on this because there's no way I can change your mind on the Wade topic and you sure as hell can't change mine. But I am impressed with the way you support him and I hope/pray to the football gods that you're right...because I love this team - I really do. I bleed the same silver and blue just like every other fan that posts here.

The thing for me is that I don't need a "rah..rah...rah" type of coach. Coach Landry was my all-time favorite and he never exhibited emotions like that, he didn't need to. His prescence commanded respect - and his players happily gave it and loved him for it. His thumbprint was on every facet of this team and he was a freakin' football genius. I've said many times before that if it weren't for a bad set of circumstances that played out against the Cowboys, that trophy would be called "The Landry". You screwed up around him and Coach Tom would shoot you his patented "look" and your face would melt off.

Anyway, I just don't see those type of qualities in Wade.

And God I hope I'm wrong...

I don't have a problem with your doubts in Wade. He took time to arrive at a coach like stance as to team direction. It may have even taken Wade setting tones before a firm grasp was gained by Wade. I do think that there was some feeling out and developing going on, and not an iron grasp when he arrived. That stated, Wade won his team's respect and their dedication from just past the half way forward, this season.

Myself, I was holding back talking bad about him...and I'm not including just your feelings here. From experience of your background, I know many of your feelings, but being a career soldier also, there are many effective management styles. They are functional as well. I have a built in restraint from going against chains of command, and tend to biting my tongue at jumping to disclaim ability when to me, more affecting player problems or injury were the cause of failures.

That stated, when the team is progressing the very strong youth is actually developing, just as with younger soldiers....I will stick with them and have faith that they too will step up and be counted upon.

If you chose to not bite your tongue on Wade...so be it. I do understand your feelings. I'll bide my time and root. I'm a long suffering fan as well as Cowboy fan to boot. We really don't ride a different horse at all...and I am appreciative that you don't slander anyone who holds to his faith in the team and it's representatives. That kind of is the American way of life, and this is America's Team....lol. :star:

Draegerman,

There are only a few of us who see Wade for what he truly is. At least next year we won't be as shocked as the kool-aide drinkers when we get blown out to end the season even though it won't hurt any less. Some people fail to realize that we have probably the most talented roster in the NFL from top to bottom. We are spinning our wheels and accepting mediocrity. The window to win is small, so it is a shame we are pissing away this opportunity. Hopefully Jerry will realize his mistake when our season is over next year. I think Gruden would be a good choice because he could motivate this team. I think Jerry will make Red the next coach. He should have done it after the 08 season. We would now know if Red is the real deal. Sad as it is, I see us screwing up and letting the window of talent slam closed without trophy number 6. I think most of the rose colored glasses wearing kool-aide drinkers will be served a hard case of reality when next season is over although there are a whole lot of truly clueless fans.:bang2:

Just read through 4 pages of posts.

Lets see;

Some like Wade, no matter what.

Some don't like Wade, no matter what.

Some love to see what they typed.

Some have read too many books.

That's about it.
