I think 105.3 alluded to there might have been problems between Kellen and Kitna. So maybe with Kellen coming back they had to move on from Kitna. Only logical explanation to me.
This would explain a lot.
So this opens the TE coach opening for........ Witten
Yuck!!!
If Kitna n KM had problems...Heck Witten was dog cussing KM on the sidelines, at least twice.

Edit: Nuss didn't have an impressive track record when I looked him up last year, but gotta accept what MM got cooking atm.

Im guessing McCarthy wanted the guy with more experience possibly.

He was, yes. But he is/was a QB coach. He is not a TE coach. So I’m sure McCarthy liked something about him to move him back to QB Coach. Look at his past, he’s a solid QB coach

He coached QBs and some OC from 2001-2017
So then it really makes me question why Nussmeier was hired as a TE coach by previous staff.

Not good. We've never had a winning season with Nussmeier on the staff. He's a jinx.

Doug Nussmeier is expected to be named quarterbacks coach on Mike McCarthy’s staff after serving as the tight ends coach in 2018-19 under Jason Garrett, according to sources. He will replace Jon Kitna, who helped oversee Dak Prescott’s career highs in passing yards and touchdowns last season. Nussmeier played quarterback in the NFL and had been offensive coordinator at Alabama, Michigan and Florida before joining the Cowboys. Nussmeier will be Prescott’s fourth quarterback coach in five seasons.

This is the only hire of McCarthy that leaves me scratching my head.

I just don't find Nussmeier as a good coach in any capacity.

Ok now see this doesn't make sense unless to me. I was fine with moving on from Kitna but this guy isn't even a outside hire he was already here.
This was talked about as being a possibility leading up to Kitna being released from his contract. There was some tweets suggesting Moore and Kitna weren’t always on the same page, plus Nussmeier has been a QB coach for 16 years and an offensive coordinator.

Probably the right move.

I don’t necessarily think Nussmeier is an upgrade in terms of technical skills teaching the QB. Kitna was a pro bowl QB. But he gets along better with Moore.
