I can't speak for anyone else but the thought never crossed my mind. Heck, the thought hasn't crossed my mind about previous photographs implying the same thing about Romo over the years, which has prompted me into posting sarcastic and humorous comments in that time.

Overweight. Huge. These and more terms have relative meaning for different people.

Oh. I'm in denial because I didn't think he was huge in real life...because your eyes were deceived.

Nice. Thank you bkight13. Next time I see a bad photo of the moon, showing it filling the night sky, I'll call it fat for the heck of it.

Tony Romo is not overweight | SportsDay

It certainly appears as if Romo is overweight. He is not. It was some poor camera work on my part. As you can see in the photo at the top of the story and the video below, Romo is the same size he was during organized team activities and minicamp.

But this post is too late. The internet already believes Romo has a weight problem.

Sorry, Tony.
I've been a photographer for over 30 years and if, make that when, I take a bad picture I generally make sure it doesn't get seen...

That's admirable. I think it's safe to say a lot of images (of Romo and many other athletes) are posted that haven't been snapped by professionals.

I know mods just post this stuff because it's funny and sparks conversation.

But it really makes me want to pimp slap somebody.

I was just wondering if maybe someone knew exactly what they were publishing and why....

How hard is it for you to admit it was a terrible picture that made Romo look fat...try it once....it is fun and it is why everyone else who saw the picture is doing it

It's probably more that the reported recognized the drama it would generate and purposely posted it only to later say, "Whoops! My bad!"

I really can't believe the obsession over another man's body or weight.

People are really that miserable and disgusted with their own life.

It is a terrible picture. It is obviously a terrible picture. Many of them are. It's Romo. He's not Jamarcus Russell. Time and again, Romo has disproven irrational opinions of him but to no avail.

Why would I believe a terrible picture is authentic? I've seen "current" photographs of well-known celebrities that make them look as if they rose from the grave but even though I may have seen them recently on the news or in a movie or on television, I'm supposed to accept them as true? I'm human. That means I can be gullible but it does not mean I must always be so.

Personal misery and disgust could be a different topic but the obsession part is easily explained. Some apply someone else's outward appearance as an direct correlation of their overall physical fitness.

It's a superficial perspective. Romo has accumulated a history of injuries--especially skeletal-related injuries. Ergo, some equate a "fat" Romo carrying a high probability of breaking bones in the future.

In truth, bone injuries are much more related to physiological differences in bone tissue and/or applied traumatic force than they do muscular integrity and certainly not adipose (fat) tissue consistency necessarily.

Personally I (selfishly) wish players' bone density results were publicized and basic principles of physics were better understood. Maybe more observers would then understand the chasm between healthy players, who seem invulnerable to bone injuries, isn't that wide from other healthy players who unfortunately sustain fractures, etc.

In Romo's case, he may have a skeletal deficiency of some sort. Who knows? In my opinion, he doesn't. I've reviewed the physical impacts Romo has sustained that resulted in broken bones. They have been slightly more harsh in magnitude than I think some might have judged. I think some would be surprised how much a small difference in force and angle will or will not break even strongly dense bone tissue.

Now, stronger arguments could be made for the predisposition of soft-tissue injuries and observing outward physical fitness. Such arguments would require a lot of supporting evidence as validation though in my opinion.

He is a pro athlete and QB of our favorite team.....he isn't just some guy.....his fitness is directly tied to our happiness...he is not a professor or engineer or even an actor...nice projection though

It's all Witten fault... he seems like the kind of friend that tells Romo what he wants to hear. Break it to him Witten. He's fat and he knows it :)
