Like clockwork.

Whenever the opportunity presents itself, bash Jerry.

and when it doesn't, he does it anyway.

How is that bashing? Jerry's a terrible personnel evaluator.

It's supposed to be a huge surprise. And that would definitely be a huge surprise.

I don't think Fassel is that huge of a surprise or a jaw dropper. Jimmy Johnson fits the surprise/jaw dropper candidate, but he's on his boat as much as possible.

I see it as either being Gregg Williams or a former head coach with a pretty big name. Commanders fans can say what they want about Snyder, but he is always looking to make $$$ and I can't see him hiring an assistant and trying to sell Commanders fans, particularly the club seats ticket holders, on that.

Not mention the reports that Jerry was the one who wanted Newman and Owens and then definitely was behind signing Leonard Davis and drafting Nick Folk.

How does a GM that has a team that went 31-17 the past three seasons get to be considered the 3rd worst personnel evaluator in the NFL?

Didn't Jimmy say he was done with coaching and that retirement fits him just right. Of course, if you offer him enough money I'm sure he would return, but he would be setting a new standard in HC pay to get Jimmy to go to Washington with that train-wreck management in place.

Hell, I bet that along with his family issues, that was a big part in Gibbs retiring again.

Matt Millen and Jerry Jones

So, a guy who thought it was a good idea to pull the trigger on a Portis-Bailey trade, AND send a second to Washington is better than Jerry? A guy who trades draft picks for Lloyd and Duckett, who never play, and gives Lloyd a new contract sight unseen? A guy who makes Adam Archuletta the highest paid safety in the NFL, and drafts Carlos "Toast" Rogers? A guy who let Antonio Pierce walk and has replaced him with two 30+ year old LBs? A guy who trades picks away every year and then has his team so far up against the cap that they can't cut Mark Brunell, they just have to continually restructure his contract and beg him not to retire?

Look at the recent draft records of teams like Oakland, Jacksonville, Atlanta, Miami, and others. Look at the free agent contracts some of those teams have handed out.

If you quit hanging onto the past, you'll realize that your stance just isn't very well thought out.

Tell me again how this would have to do with player personnel evaluation.

Yep, I agree that Cerrato isn't a good personnel man.

The first sentence should have had "better" in it instead of "worse".

Putting Jerry with Millen and Cerrato while ignoring some other horrific blunders in the places I mentioned, combined with San Francisco, the disaster in Cincinnatti, the horrific erosion of talent in Baltimore, the Chiefs no-name roster, and Carolina's recent failures, is just stupid.

BP never would've came here if he didn't have a huge say in personnel, especially after the "buying groceries" comment he made when he left NE.

Of course some people still try to convince us Jerry was the main personnel decision maker when Jimmy was here, so I'm not surprised to see the same thing happening with the BP era.

and fools just keep saying jones is a control freak but won't give him credit for decisions cause that control went to someone else. maybe they worked together and parcells in the end gave into jones and the scouting department, ya think?

and the players mentioned are known jones calls, like it or not.

Really? And you want us to believe that Jerry was the key personnel man behind the Super Bowl years and getting this version of the Cowboys from the 5-11 pit they were mired in to annual playoff contenders, all the while making excuses for what led us to those 5-11 years.

Yeah, good job proving my point about you. :laugh2:
