Twitter: OBJ doesn't see the point of playing in the regular season

He wants some guarantee for next year, just in case he breaks down again.
If he was prepared to accept a contract for just this year and say he was going to be fit for the playoffs, then Jerry would of signed (even for publicity purposes).
He can want all he wants, doesn't mean a team is going to blindly give him a 2023 guarantee when he can't even work out and apparently has let it be known that he can't even think about playing for another 5 weeks. My guess is that at some point, maybe in a month, he'll have to decide whether he wants a 1-2 game (maybe 3 at best) rehab playoff option or if he'll just punt until next March.

Does he see the point in collecting 7 figure paychecks every two weeks? Something tells me he would..

Whoever decides to sign OBJ will understand, completely, that he's not going to play this season.

He's just not going to be physically ready. Even if he was completely cleared to play, they would have to start out slowly with OBJ, only put him on the field for a half dozen plays in his first game. In the second game they would double his load.

Problem is, we are talking playoffs because he's not going to be in any regular season games. By the time OBJ can play a full load of plays, the postseason will be over. Then that team will be cutting players to make room for the new big hit on their cap next season. OBJ is going for the money.

Oh u can stay sir we don’t want u Playoffs I get ur hunger for a chip but my guy u don’t know our playbook scheme hot routes no nuffin u need at least 2 regular season games yes Jerry not signing u now sir good luck n cold buffalo

This isn’t a good look to be honest. Guy is going to put off a lot of teams with that attitude.

Well obviously it doesnt mean anyone WILL give the guarantee, but that could well of been his negotiating position. He must of known that he wasnt fit and that he couldnt work out....so he tout's his services as play-offs + guaranteed money. There's a hope that some owner, maybe an octogenarian publicity junky couldnt resist.

Probably why Jerry refused him. If it was a health issues, then Jerry probably would've rolled the dice anyway given that he's had injured players before and would see it as a discount opportunity. However, he probably could get a sense that OBJ's head isn't into football. At least not in terms of loving football like the rest of this team. So, with that, i am glad he's not on this team.

We've built a roster filled with players that clearly love football. That's why the locker room seems to be so good. I would compare OBJ to TO, but at least TO loved football. OBJ just uses it to get clout. That's not a player for the Cowboys.

What's the point of working yourself into a new offense with new teammates in the regular season?

These players are sickeningly entitled these days. I hate them all and root for the laundry.
Wow. You nailed my thoughts perfectly. I've come to root for jerseys and really no longer care who is in them. I like these guys as athletes but I understand they are people. Most people nowadays suck. Its just my opinion.

With that tweet OBJ gives the impression that he could play in the regular season if he were inclined to!

It does seem like OBJ wants everything his way. If he told Jerry that, no wonder he didn't get a contract. o_O

What a freaking narcissist and prima donna! Why even waste one’s time with him. A 30 year-old coming off of 2 knee operations, I’m sure he will strike fear into opposing DBs. I think whichever team picks him is going to get OBJ-light…hopefuly not at $20MM.

OBJ would have been a good fit for the Cowboys in the past with that mentality. Not anymore with the Parsons mentality.

Remember he told Parsons he could be ready in 5 weeks which would mean right around playoff time. I'm guessing wanna get some sort of reels out there to show teams he's completely healthy and back to form. I think he will end up signing with one of the top 3 teams from both conferences.
