I absolutely will blame the QB, any QB, for clock management. There was no method to the play calling because they could not set anything up with a very inconsistent QB. I'm not placing all the blame on Campbell just a big portion of it. JMO, of course.

You can blame him all you want but it's the coaches who decide when to go to the hurry-up offense. The Skins were still huddling between plays inside of two minutes.

Was Campbell so bad that Zorn gave up on him and had him run out the clock?

Has Zorn done such a poor job of preparing his team that they were incapable of any hurry-up? Is Campbell so bad that Zorn could not go to the hurry up because he had to explain everything in the huddle to him?

The Skins have a lot of work to do and I don't know if either Zorn or Campbell are capable of getting it done.

Correctly restated. Campbell's pocket presences also stinks. That first sack was all on him. He rolled to the outside instead of stepping back up into the middle of the pocket where it was wide open.

As does his timing. On that deep pass to Moss, which Moss had to break up to prevent an interception, Moss couldn't have been more wide-open. But Campbell took WAY too long delivering the ball, he literally should have thrown it about two seconds before he did. I realize he was flushed out of the pocket, but any good quarterback is still looking downfield when he's rolling out and he missed a ridiculously easy TD pass.

I wasn't impressed by anything other than the Giants running game. it also helps when you're going up against Jason taylor. he can't cut it in the NFC East. but both teams better step it up if they think they can mess with us.

That's one observation I came up with too -- Taylor looked like a little boy out there. He had better stick to dancing or he's going to get roughed up in this division. :lmao:

In this division, Taylor seems better suited as a 3-4 OLB rather than a 4-3 DE. Wait until Flo and Colombo get their hands on him, instead of dancing with the stars he'll be seeing them!!! :laugh2:

What bothered me was all the runs up the middle near the end of the game for the Commanders.... Strange.

They couldn't get open more than a few yards downfield and that part is a lot on coaching but its also players. Campbell was going to the only plays he had.

I have likely overrated the over talent on that Skins team but it will take more than a game to change my mind.

I must've been watching a different game for stretches because the Campbell I saw put the ball on the money a lot of the time...If nothing else, it was confirmed that Thrash bears more than a spelling similarity to Trash...The guy missed at least 3 balls that were right in his hands...And let's not forget that the OLine didn't do a great job of keeping that pocket intact against a rush that lost 2 of it's best pass rushers

They should have cut Thrash, kept Billy McMullen and made do on special teams. You can always find a gunner. It's not like he is all world at it. Cartwright is the ace.

What was also strange, and I'm leaving out a WHOLE lot when I say this, is what they did after they completed a pass in the middle of the field on the last drive.

They were down by nine with 13 seconds left. Why didn't they kick the field goal THEN and be down by 6 with 9 seconds left? That would have given them enough time to possibly recover the onside, call one last play which would have most likely been a deep pass to the endzone.

You know what they did on the next play? A deep pass to the end zone which Santana Moss had to play defense on. That left them with like 7 seconds.

Even if he caught it, they would have still had to kick an onside and then need two plays to get a field goal. They didnt have time for that.

Very poor time management.

This doesn't even take into account all the flippin running plays with less than two minutes on the clock. And Skins fans thought Joe Gibbs needed help with clock management...

Did you not see Campbell waste 7 seconds to spike the ball? I did. That wasn't the only time either. It's his job on the field to manage the clock. Period.

And you DO NOT check down and throw to a receiver 10 yards from out of bounds for 6 and seven yard completions with less than a minute to play. Campbell all the way.
