The game is on at 4:20 so we eat at 2 PM definitely before. No interruptions.

The neck WAS OFF LIMIITS.
Mom used it to enhance the gravy.
But NO ONE ELSE could partake in her delicacy.
(The same went for chicken - or any other bird.
I believe she had a fowl fetish.)
Me and my brother would fight over the neck growing up...actually still do.

I never ever watch the game live on Thanksgiving. I watch the replay later unless someone tells me that maybe I should just skip it. Then I know no matter how much I root we will lose so I watch it anyway but I fast forward a lot. I hate it when someone can't wait to tip me off as I always say if you know the score keep it mum. I'd feel guilty ditching the family for a football game on a holiday.

Every Thanksgiving the chicken fried venison backstrap, smashed taters, green beans, monkey bread and cream gravy is ready at high noon come hell, high water or Dallas Cowboys....been like that since the beginning of time
But since Dallas usually the late game...no conflict and if so make a plate and go watch...

Monkey Bread, had to look that one up. Origin is Hungary, actually sounds pretty good. So what is chicken fried venison?
