Prescott, and you talk to people in and around the situation, he's well aware of how well he can do in free agency if he were to let this ride out, play well again, put up a huge QBR and then be there in March for $60M a year.
Not even thinking about getting this team to a Super Bowl. Let this loser walk man.

He, just like his fans, is only worried about his QBR

CeeDee will not miss a game.......he will show up and play on his current deal. Now if it's not done by next season and they try to franchise him.......different ball game. If that happens, I guess he will ask for a trade or sit out the season.
If he comes in for week 1, then he's asking to be tagged next year. If he wants to be paid or traded, now is the time. He can sit out until week 12 if need be. He has to be back by week 12. Once the losses start piling up, he'll either be paid, or Jerry will trade him next offseason. Zero chance he gets tagged after sitting out until week 12. This is why we rarely ever see this happen. But if he shows up for week 1, he gets tagged next year. He knows this.

Why would he turn down 32.5 or 33? The money is right there. They want to sign him.

We don't know the details of the contract. The guaranteed money might be low. The years may be too little or too many. We don't know the details.

What's the urgency on lamb if we don't have a QB locked up who can get him the ball? We can franchise Lamb. There is no urgency on a team with no shot at a Super Bowl.

Cowboys committed this off season to letting this play out. Why change now?

I don't think he signs before cutdowns. Silver lining is that he shouldn't count against the 53 since he did not report.

How does one of the top teams in the NFC have no shot? They are already a solid lock to finish 1st or 2nd in their division and the season hasn't even started.

You clearly don't see how bad this got in the off season. We are looking at .500. The other teams in the NFC East improved in the offseason. We have 2 rookies on the OL and the worst rb room in the league. We lost 3 DE's from last year and DLAW isn't getting any younger. The team you saw implode against GB is much worse than last year.

It looks like they just want this to play out. Why wait this long? If that happens, I wouldn't tag Lamb next year. We won't have a QB. Let him walk.

They're not a solid lock. What if Lamb doesn't show up for regular season games? Still think we're a solid lock?

I tried telling you guys yesterday that Lance's terrible PS performance gave Dak more leverage...

He can sit out the season but, if he does he loses a year and can still be franchised. Players don't like to lose millions.

Lamb will sign a deal for 32.5 or 33 per year. I don't see how he could turn that down.
He may indeed get 33mil per year but, only if he agrees to 5 year deal. Jerry has heard enough of him being called a "Cave Man".

lol leverage. CeeDee can sit out and play when he only needs to. The team using the franchise tag has ramifications against the cap space. Sure, if you are willing to lose, you can do this. We’ve all seen this narrative play out before lol

Shame on the front office
Sitting out by players has been tried before and the player loses. He is under contract and if he sits all season, he loses a year and will be in the same shape next year.
Dallas holds all the cards and will still have 5 or 6 receivers to play football this season.

Dak leaving this off-season.

We go with Lance or Rush next year.

We go after Manning in the 2025 draft.

That would be my ideal plan.
Dak may indeed be leaving this offseason, be we are NOT going with Lance or Rush. Come on...
