He can sit out the season but, if he does he loses a year and can still be franchised. Players don't like to lose millions.
I didn't think he was sitting out the entire season but reporting mid-late year to protect his accrued years.

Dak may indeed be leaving this offseason, be we are NOT going with Lance or Rush. Come on...
So what...Cowboys will tank next season, cast off overpaid players who are over the hill and then draft a QB the next year. Draft and develop is the winning ticket.

Exactly. Just because something works doesn’t mean it wasn’t stupid.
Lol, you guys are ridiculous. They have the best kicker in football that they signed as a free agent and somehow you think it was still stupid. Talk about stupid.

How they went about it was stupid. You remember the guy before him? We did the same thing with Maher and it didn’t work. This team doesn’t believe in competition.

No they won't tank. It's as if you never followed Jerry before. And why give Micah and CeeDee mega deals to tank. You either tank or you don't.

Sitting out by players has been tried before and the player loses. He is under contract and if he sits all season, he loses a year and will be in the same shape next year.
Dallas holds all the cards and will still have 5 or 6 receivers to play football this season.
They have nobody of importance behind CeeDee. He is our offense. And when's the last time a player lost going against the Cowboys management. If CeeDee wasn't willing to lose game checks then he shouldn't have held out because he only gains leverage when the season starts. Nobody cares if he misses the preseason

The player AND the team loses, that is why no one likes the franchise tag. If the wanted to tag him, they would have done it already. They are using it as a LAST resort.

He has been fined 3.8 million dollars so far. The NFL controls the fines for players now, not the teams so he will be paying his fine. They don't allow teams to forgive fines anymore based on the CBA. Although there is some exception for rookie contract players so he might not pay all of it, but at least some of it. One the regular season starts that goes to a million a week for him. I think that if he doesn't report by week 7, then then this year doesn't count. he is really costing himself. If he sits out a year, not many teams are willing to give up top money for a WR who sat out, so the best he would get would be a prove it contract. Personally I would give him a fair contract offer and just wait it out. I wouldn't sign Dak because its obvious Dak is only about Dak. He wants the money, that's all. I would roll with whatever we have next year, sign Parson's and get a good rookie QB.

He is under contract, they don't have to use it yet.

Nobody tanks when you have a good team. It's ridiculous to bring it up.

Everyone is waiting to see what team blinks first....you have SF vs Aiyuk, Cincy and Chase and Dallas vs CD Lamb.....players want to be the last to sign as they will get more.....CD is holding out to see what Aiyuk and Chase gets then will sign

Imagine thinking Mike McCarthy would play out his last year on his contract to tank. Dallas was never tanking even though they should, but they will see where they stand mid-season with regards to Dak…

They should tank? Lol How do you tank when you are one of the better teams in the NFC?
