I see a great number of people want to draft a DT. From what i see some of the projections say, Siaki Ika, Baylor, will be there in the second. (I understand this Walter Football's mock and no guarantees.)

The Cowboys are looking to upgrade the interior of their defensive line with a big-bodied player.
Siaki Ika is a massive nose tackle who can apply a bit of pressure on the quarterback.

But what if, Dallas were to take O'Cyrus Torrence OG Florida in the first. This guy is huge. I really like the idea of two interior linemen, each on the opposite sides of the ball.

Not a sexy pick, but this might solve some pressing issues. He is projected to go to the Eagles at 30.

The Eagles had 12 key free agents this offseason, two of whom were offensive linemen. Isaac Seumalo is gone, so he'll need to be replaced.
O'Cyrus Torrence is a huge interior blocker with surprising athleticism.

Siaki ika has one of the worst RAS ever. He's so unathletic and can barely move.

Look what Hankins just resigned for, what 1.5 Million? They don't value the position. Unless they have rush abilities, they won't be considered until day 3. Roy from LSU might be a 30 visitor, that is more the type they will draft on day 3.

No chance Torrence makes it to 58, he is the best pure Guard in the draft. Kind of like Leonard Davis, big/strong, but doesn't move well.

If the Cowboys end up trading down and out of round 1 I think Siaki Ika would be a name to watch. I have a hard time taking him over some of the OL and TE prospects that should be there at 26 though. Especially with him not showing up at all as a pass rusher in 2022. I know stats are not everything for interior DL guys, but to not registering a single sack all year is a red flag on taking a guy in the 1st round.

Torrence is a name to keep an eye on for that pick at 26 though. I'm leaning more towards them going TE in the 1st, but see Oline as a backup option if their guy isnt there. Torrence isn't what the Cowboys have gone for in recent years. It's been more of the lighter more athletic Oline players, but with a new OC, new play caller, and new Oline coach I'm not sure how much stock we can really put into what they've done in the past.

Torrence is the #1 rated guard. Last year we saw Arizona(Johnson) and Houston(Green) take guards in the first before Dallas picked.
So, imo there's a chance he doesn't make it to 26.

I don’t love Torrence. I just don’t like his feet. In a gap scheme he would be better suited. For an inside zone like Dallas will be running, I just think that his feet aren’t quite good enough… and certainly not in an outside zone, which will still be in the playbook some.

I like Avila a little more. He is still big and powerful, like Torrence, but he has a little better feet as well as better versatility, having played center.

I’m not saying that I know for sure… but if you want my opinion, I’d go in a different direction than Torrence… particularly at 26.

Think the favorite in the 1st assuming nothing crazy happens is Avila.

I like Avila better.

I would want to interview and check out the work ethic of Torrence.
- I get a La'el vibe from watching him.
- Sometimes dominant but sometimes looks like he lost focus on the play.

Avila is a high intensity player and he pushed Mazi Smith around in that matchup.

Avila also played a full season at OC.

I’ve heard about his feet, but for someone to give up 0 career sacks in the SEC I’m sure they are plenty good enough for the NFL.

He may not be able to pull like some others - but I’d count on him doing his job better than most in this draft.

Not really a fan of Torrence.

Heavy feet. Struggles with defenders going across his face on stunts or hard slants. People like showing his matchup against Jalen Carter for some reason when Torrence had some really bad snaps.

I like Avila over Torrence all day.

Don't like Torrence in first two rounds, nor Ika in first three.

Ika's a blob.
Torrence is too hit'n miss. Might maul somebody one down then whiff entirely the next down.

He might not make it to 58, because there's such a lack of guards. But the Leonard Davis comp is something I see - not in a good way. Davis was the same way. He'd have some spectacular plays but too many where he literally blocked nothing but air.
