Defense gets props but frankly, the defense is a horrible tackling unit. Horrible.

And Carr blows.

This offseason they need to overhaul the secondary.

Know what else is killing the defense? They are dead last in the league in take-aways.

Another donut today against turnover machine Eli Manning.

The combination of a defense that doesn't force turn-overs and the poor special teams play is killing this team.

We are playing down our biggest player on offense and our best WR on offense and are making too many mistakes.

I'd forgotten the defensive score today, too. The Giants team made the sorts of plays today that we need to be making with Tony out.

Hard for the Defense to win a game when the offense and Special Teams do everything to lose it for you.

Disgust

I posted this morning that with all hands on deck on defense that the offense should remain "almost" as conservative as they were with Weed.

hard to argue but Casssel is a 3rd stringer at best

Relax first game back in a while. He made some very nice throws and we were in it till the end despite 3 picks. He will play better.

Coaching ain't helping

I'm usually critical of Garrett's offensive design, which is on the coaches, but not this game. They changed things up some in the running game and trucked one of the best run defenses in the league for over 230 yards. I put this game on the players. On the pick-six, Williams quit on his route. The second pick was a terrible decision and an even worse throw. The third pick was a good play by a DB, but Cassell had no business throwing that ball where he did. And coaches don't cover kicks. Even after 3 INT's, including one returned for a TD, and a kickoff returned for 6, we still had a chance with 1:35 left to go out and tie the game. Until Beasley couldn't catch a punt.

When your starting QB is out, you need your D to give your offense a short field on occasion or maybe score some points.

Yeah, they did a decent job today, but they have to help out when we're so depleted on one side of the ball and they just haven't done enough.

Exactly. How many turnovers have they generated this year?????? Instead of relying on the offense or special teams to do something, the DEFENSE needs to step the **** up.

To all the people who keep saying the defense needs to step up... **** off, They gave up 13 points.

You want them to be the 85 bears/00 Ravens/ 02 bucs? Too bad.

Those were generational... HISTORICAL defenses

Screw turnovers. The problem is the offense. The defense is fine.

And there's nothing you can do. It's just an injury thing.

Want to be mad? Be mad at fate. Because if we're healthy-- no team is better.

I am not giving up. Apparently, you have. I think we are a real good team playing poorly.

The coaches this. The play calling that. Team preparation? Pfff.

I'm not giving up either, but these players have got to step up and fricking play. I'm way more disturbed about the failure to cover kicks and catch punts than I am the INT's. Well, Williams stopping on his route is a pisser too. Cassel has had his mulligan. No leash from me next week.

I have to say, though, I'd rather risk Cassel throwing picks than watch the team lose slowly by check-down.

well there was that 99 yard TD drive, they could have held there and given the offense a short field. Its also OK for them to create turnovers and 3 and outs. With Romo down, its important for them to step up and hold it together until Tony gets back. Remember the offense put up 28 in Atlanta, and the defense folded.

When your starting QB and #1 WR are out, the defense has to once in a while give you a short field. It has to once in a while score points. It has to do more than just be solid.

The same goes for special teams.

Neither are living up to their side of the bargain. If one facet struggles, the others have to step up. It just hasn't happened.

Ya bad thing is we still had many chances but 4th quarter was terrible. Cassell throwing 3 interceptions in 5 attempts is beyond excusable. They kept playing with fire with that Williams comeback route but he doesn't come back to the ball.

I still rather have Cassell then Weeden, we were able to run cause we tested down field. Some were caught, some dropped, and an interception but giants defense couldn't cheat up.

I refuse to give up and hopefully another week of practice for Cassell plus maybe getting Dez back might tilt the offense in better ball control. We control the time of position and ran effectively. Defense played really well other then maybe 2-3 big plays.

Special teams really needs to get it together. Beasley should not be the point returner period. Let Lucky return all kicks

Well said

Bisaccia is worse than DeCamillis. The guy is hanging on by his reputation from previous teams right now
