Put him in a more advanced offense and see how he does. Dak isn't a Brady or Montana and will never be one. Put Cooper Rush out there and you will get the same results.
How he would do, spectacular Cooper Rush. You lost any integrity that you might’ve had left with that statement.

So “dude”, the logical implication of your argument is that they were playing in the same offense, whether you said it explicitly or not. Which is why I actually brought the numbers about running more and targeting the backs way more in the passing game with Rush to prove they went conservative and it was not the same offense.

So it’s you that needs to “calm down”, because you apparently are sick and tired of people claiming that Dak is a dumb QB and needs a dumbed down offense
Dak had better production. He was among the league leaders. Rush wasn’t. If you say they ran more I’d say all teams do that because their backups aren’t as good. And I like more offense production vs less unless a coach can make an old school offense work and we win. Sure I’d take that too, but that’s not the case. The case was the D played extremely well and we won despite having less offense.

Is your position that Rush is a better QB than Dak?

Go back to the beginning of last season for a moment if you will.

The offense was inconsistent and struggled until Lamb exploded and demanded the ball. It seemed like from that point on the offense figured out some things, including using motion and the offense gained more explosiveness.

Fast forward to now. Why does it seem like our WRs seem to constantly run hooks or curls with very little variation. No motion, just dull play calling.

It seems to me we ignored everything we learned offensively from last season and started at ground zero again.

Side note, kudos to Mazi and Overshown. Much better performance
Dak is easily confused by good defenses so he does not throw with anticipation. He throws when the WR is coming open hence hooks and curls

Here's the problem: The Cowboys are paying Dak Prescott like he's Aaron Rodgers in his prime. Mike McCarthy runs an offensive scheme not conducive to what Dak does well. Prescott is not Rodgers, but they are paying him and scheming him like he is. Dak Prescott needs to be in an offensive scheme like Jared Goff. More under center, solid running scheme, play action passing game, etc. The Cowboys have set up their $60 million dollar man to fail.
Agree.

The scheme is too BASIC.

This is a ridiculous statement. Anticipation has nothing to do with reading a defense. You’re throwing to a spot and you have to trust your receiver is going to be there.

I will try to be as gentle as i can

The QB has to read the defense and decide which of his options will be open at what time

This decision requires reading the defense and throwing with anticipation

That is football 101 pretty much

IMO, this is not the same offense that the team had for the last 12 weeks or so of last season. There was some motion. Beyond that, the read and route scheme was frequently:
- Dak looks at safeties before the snap, decides left or right based on pre-snap read
- Dak looks his decided direction after the snap and has a high/low route scheme on that side of the field. Based on what a defender does, he throws high or low.

I'm not sure I have seen that all year. Everything I have seen is that Dak is going through his read progression after the play starts and his reads cover the entire field. Beyond that, there are few combination routes where one receiver and another are overlapping to force the defense to choose.

I will say this, the read and route scheme that worked so well during the latter 3/4 of last year completely failed against Green Bay because they figured it out and were changing the coverage after the snap. Its what lead to at least one of the INT's and several incompletions. Maybe McCarthy is afraid of that but the current system really sucks.

And he has no problem doing that. It’s not his issues. Does he have some yes but this is not it.

So you finally admit that the play-calling was conservative, which the stats show..

Isn’t that what happens when you don’t have a balanced offense you keep it vanilla and simple. Methodical
