Offensive play calling

So many culprits thrown around in this thread... Headcoach, injuries, Dak, the whole Offense, mentality...

Probably a little bit of everything. But don't forget, the defence showed up tonight. Even though they were out there for so much time. Nah, this is on the offense and the offense alone. And I wouldn't even try to single out anyone there. QB, WR, RB, O-line, Play Calling... it all just sucked.

Couldn't the HC step to Moore and tell him "I'm calling the game from here on out."

He's the Head Coach.
He has more than 20 years experience calling plays and won a SB as a play calling head coach.

Does he just not know Moore's playcalling terminology or does he not have this authority as the head guy?

Seems like both Denver and today could have used this change that I suggest.

OR any time really if the HEAD football coach determines a change to play calling may be necessary.

Just a thought.

I'd prefer the HC simply snatching the playbook out of the OC's hands and tell him to get out the way........for everyone to see.

I really get a kick when most think that Moore will be gone next year. He is not even remotely ready to be a head coach. He has trouble adjusting when things don’t go to plan. Yesterday and vs Denver are examples of this. The man has all these offensive weapons and sometimes has brain fades. What team is he going to go to, that will save his butt like the offensive talent we have on this team? Let’s put the rumours, Moore leaving to be a head coach finally to rest.

They called some of those but the truth is they called mostly super short plays. They averaged 2.5 yards per catch. Dak missed on the few big plays and they couldn't connect on even intermediate routes. It was all Behind the line crap where their defense tackled immediately. Hate those plays. Dak was off again, the only passes that were on the move were when Wilson was coming back to the ball and making a diving catch.

I think Fat Mike is on a power trip if he has taken away Dak’s ability to change plays up based on different looks from defense. Since the Tampa game Dak has been changing to different plays less and less.

I know McCarthy is stubborn bum who said he likes to keep the original plays and not audible so his constant WR screens can get no gain.

Dak has always done what he's told. I think he changes based on what 2 options he is given. So if those options suck he isn't coming up with his own solution. We don't know if he gets a run pass option or 2 pass plays or what his options are. The OL limited what they can do and none of those guys blocked well including martin. Dak is just not the guy who can carry a team, few are.

Unfortunately he might have the same authority as the previous HC. This ownership doesn't believe in having a HC who runs the team with complete authority.
