not in sports or politics, that's for sureReality and truth won't change the narrative. Never does.
NoI never saw a replay on that tripping call . Did Hendershot actually trip anyone ?
yeah but again, it was an illegal formation anyway. If they didnt flag them for the other, they certainly would have for the formation. The ref in the booth working with ABC even said it was an easy call as there were several miscues by Detroit on that play. ESPN, CBS is trying real hard to bury Dallas after the fact because they love them some Detroit. They make me vomit.Detroit including the coaches heard the announcement on the loudspeaker with 70 being eligible. How come no one on the Detroit side said anything, including the coaches? Looks like they tried to pull a fast one and got a dose.
Someone should have gone straight to the refs and corrected the announcement to 68.
exactly. Refs called a good game except the nefarious tripping. We won the game anyway.None of it matters if the refs do not screw up the tripping call. The Cowboys either score a touchdown or eat the clock.
Crocodile tears by Detroit.
Multiple people can report, but an eligible receiver can’t be covered by an eligible receiver. 70 was announced as eligible, so he must be the last man on the LOS. It makes no difference if he thought he told the ref or not, the ref has to announce the eligible receiver to create a fair playing field, and the ref announced 70 as eligible. So 68 can’t be on the same side at the LOS, which he was.Am I correct a team can only bring in one eligible linemen receiver ? If that’s the case and it was announced 70 reported in then what’s the beef ? Detroit went ahead and ran the play anyway threw it to 68
Incorrect. Multiple players can report as eligible as long as they follow the rules of alignment. The rule exists because some numbers signify ineligible players. A team can trot out 5 players wearing ineligible numbers and put them in eligible positions as long as they report to the refs.Am I correct a team can only bring in one eligible linemen receiver ? If that’s the case and it was announced 70 reported in then what’s the beef ? Detroit went ahead and ran the play anyway threw it to 68
TY...exactly. That was a case of getting too cute for your own good and complicating what should have been an easy conversion for them, with those weapons. They had been driving down the field with ease, so why the artsy fartsy stuff by Dan Campbell? He was beat by himself really. We then did our job and won the ball game fair and square.Like I said before with all the weapons Detroit has your tossing balls into the end zone at Tackles ?
THANK YOU!! Folks need to understand what actually happened on that play.Multiple people can report, but an eligible receiver can’t be covered by an eligible receiver. 70 was announced as eligible, so he must be the last man on the LOS. Also, Detroit had 8 men on the LOS, which is an illegal formation as well.
No he wasn't. Look at the replay. The WR was off the LOS. Watch the play posted in this article. At the start #8 is off the LOS, not by much but he is technically not covering #68 (Decker).Decker was covered by a WR, so it's not a discussion. Some of you have to catch up to the rules.
I sure hope we don't have to play them in the playoffs. They are better than I thought they were. I expected us to walk right through them fairly easily, and that didn't happen. We are lucky to get out with a win, but honestly the game didn't mean anything to them. As I've said in earlier thread if they really wanted to win they would have kicked field goals instead of going for it, and not making it, and at the end they could have kicked the extra point and gone into overtime. They were running all over us, and we weren't doing much to stop it. I didn't like our chances of winning if it went into overtime. Detroit made their bed now they have to lay in it. The referee said Dallas wins and I'm good with that.exactly right, which negates any conjured-up controversy. The argument is DOA. People in the media need to move on and get over the love affair they have with Detroit. We beat them fairly. Many on this MB need to look at everything in context. Illegal formation makes the entire play null and void. The ref called it right.
Since 70 reported and was covered up it was an illegal formationNo he wasn't. Look at the replay. The WR was off the LOS. Watch the play posted in this article. At the start #8 is off the LOS, not by much but he is technically not covering #68 (Decker).
On the other side, #70 is covered. If he went out for a pass, he would have been an ineligible player downfield.

well, they had 11 wins. So I knew what we were facing. This team did exactly what I thought they would. Very big and physical. I am encouraged by the fact we grinded out a hard fought win against a really good playoff team. We should rest easy knowing we can do it...meaning, beat a really good team in a tight game. This bodes well for Dallas.I sure hope we don't have to play them in the playoffs. They are better than I thought they were. I like your line of thinking. I'm just not as optimistic going forward as I was going into the game.well, they had 11 wins. So I knew what we were facing.
