OFFICIAL Chicago vs. Arizona Thread

:lmao::lmao: OMG the Battle of the Lake! I was in HS the year Rowlett opened, I opted to go to Garland for IB instead. I will never forget the hiring of the 'winningest head coach in TX HSFB History' and his retiring 4 years later because of his ineptitude.

That being said, Rowlett has produced talent. I remember their first big name, Laney Hopkins I believe. That was a phenomenal LB. Went to Nebraska, but I don't think he really did much.

They've got a kid now, I think his name is Marquise Goodwin, and he's supposed to be the Lebron James of High School cornerbacks. He started on varsity as a freshman and runs a 4.35 40.

We actually had a player that we clocked at 4.3 flat his senior year (year we won state). However, he ended up going to SMU and only did OK.

My senior year, we had a guy, can't remember his name, but he ran a 4.3 and went to UT. Also had a LB go to A&M. Neither panned out.

I think part of it is that outside of South Garland's meaningless attempts at it, none of the division's teams run a really effective spread. I think the GISD is cursed not to have major NFL stars.

That's OK though - Garland has Ike Diogu in the NBA.

That punters facemask was hilarious...would suck if he had to make the tackle if that guy runs it back.

Dude I think that helmet was so tight. I hope that guy keeps on punting.

Ike Diogu is the center of my crowning athletic achievement. I dunked on him his senior year

Of course, we lost my about 30 and he blocked about 4 other shots of mine :(

South Garland's spread was owned by Rowlett my senior. I think we had 5 INTs against them.

:bow::bow:That's still amazing.

How'd you fare against TA TA Thompson?

BTW - what were you his senior year? He was only a year behind me.

Man Grossman is letting that ball hang out tonight.

Great INT and run by Arizona. Keep it up!

WOW 14-0..........We lose to the Texans, the Cards are putting up a fight, what's next, world peace??

South Garland's spread is owned ever year. For the last decade, they've been preseason favorites to win the division, because they get good talent. But they often get beat by Garland, North Mesquite, Mesquite, Rowlett these days. It's sad - the old Garland/South Garland Rivalry of the eighties used to be the highlight of that division.

This is unreal how well Arizona's offense is clicking tonight.

Do you think so? They are as talented there as any team. With Leinart playing well, it will only help edge. When that team runs on all cylinders, they'll get scary fast.

I was a sophmore (I think). I'm pretty sure it was in my first year on Varsity

South Garland basketball games are crazy. They pack that place well over its limit and the players run down the sidelines slapping fans hands and all kinds of crazy stuff
