This game is like a chore...just get it out of the way because you knew it was coming eventually.

The only downside of it to me is I'm not keen on such a long travel date mid season and worry about a hangover the following week.i don't buy the American game argument. If this gets Europeans into it do I don't have to put up with hand-egg jokes anymore I'm all for it.

Plus, you gotta admit its gonna be kinda cool playing in front of a world audience and not just a national one.

I believe that the teams that go to London get a bye the following week.

People should be happy it's only the lowly Jags. The Falcons are playing the Lions next year. One of them will lose a home game. Also it's just a skip acorss the channel for me, wins all round.

You are correct sir. League made sure that teams who make that trip will have the bye the following week

I've posted before that we may very well see an NFL team in London. There is just too much money to be made not to do that -- fan interest is high and a BBC TV deal would mean a huge amount of cash in the owner's pockets.

People can say "jet lag" blah blah blah -- but honestly, if you are flying first class on a charter you aren't feeling that as much as the poor shmoe who is going coach.

I expect the London team would come on two, maybe three, trips to the states for an extended road series that minimized travel. For example, I assume this team would be in the AFC East -- they'd likely get an away stretch where they play the Pats, Jets, and Bills in consecutive weeks (I expect they wouldn't play the Dolphins b/c the Fins are going to end up in the South... why are they in the South -- B/c Jacksonville is obviously the team moving to London). Maybe they stay four weeks and get their AFC North opponent out of the way that week. Next time around they get the other four on the schedule. They likely get some relief in scheduling (e.g., Raiders and 49ers in consecutive weeks with their facilities in the SF bay area).

Oh yeah, we'll also end up seeing another bye week for everyone to ease all this in.

It could but I think it is a ways down the road. I do think Logistics would be hard to contend with not impossiable.

It would be tough but I expect the league has run various scenarios and locked down the logistics. I think right now the league is looking to see what happens to interest just by having games there. If they can hook the BBC into a big contract with just that, they'd be very happy.

Smart thinking... but, I don't think they would go crazy with the 3 road games in a row thing. That is pretty rare. But even if they did just alternate 2 game sets of road and home games, that would mean one round trip flight per month. You've got to think that would be fairly manageable.

It seems to me it would much easier for a U.S. based team to play in London on Sunday (followed by a bye week) than it would be to play a game on Thursday (after playing on Sunday) anywhere in the country.
