In 1986 Tex Schramm had the Cowboys play in London vs the Bears and just as Tex knew Jerry knows it is good for the brand like the Cowboys to play over in Europe

I hate it actually.

Football is an American sport and should always be played here IMO.

Not bad for us. We don't lose a home game and it's only the Jags.

Really...?

I'm against the NFL trying to force the American Football down Europe's throats, but if the demand is there, so be it.

I doubt the demand is actually there, though. But I'm glad the OP may get a chance to see them in action next year.

To heck with London...If the NFL wants to go international, put franchises in Mexico City, Mexico and Toronto, Canada...

I don't think Toronto would support an NFL team. Just my opinion.

EVIDENCE: I live in Toronto.

LONDON -- More than half a million people were drawn to the NFL Block Party on Saturday afternoon, as Regent Street, in London's busiest shopping district, was closed down for the day to play home to football fans celebrating before Sunday's game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Minnesota Vikings

I don't expect the NFL to have teams in Europe but what is taking place is Youth football in europe. Much like soccer being brought to America it is done by introducing the game to the youth and as more and more kids play it the more interest there is in the sport.

I spent a lot of time in our London office and there was a fair amount of interest. We used to take the Europeans to games in NY and they really got into it. The Cowboys should be a good draw.

CFL is popular in Montreal, Hamilton, Saskatchewan, Vancouver. Toronto cares more about the NFL. I just don't think it cares enough to support an NFL team. Hockey still rules here.

Its one game that potentially will draw in thousands of fans and repay loyal UK based fans who have stayed up till 5am most Sundays watching the cowboys sometimes when they have been awful

I'm thrilled. A trip to London is so much easier from my country, and the Cowboys won't be giving up a home game. This is very good news for us European Cowboys fan. Can't wait for tickets sale.

Both games they had this year sold out in hours. I guess next year they're going to go to 3 games. I think they'll keep raising the number of games there to see if that continues, and if it does I would wager they put a team there.

The demand really doesn't have to be there in terms of what we think the demand may be in the US for the NFL.

England is like 1/6th the size of Texas and has twice the population. London is just as populous as NYC but is crammed into a smaller area. Even if interest was relatively small they'd still be able to make it work based just on the numbers and there's an unreal amount of growth potential.

If the interest is there then the biggest problem is logistical.

Not sure if moving a team to London is the wise idea considering the long travells, imagine going from London to San Diego. Then i highly doubt players will want to sign there when their salary will be eaten alive by taxes, im pretty sure they have higher taxes than anywhere in USA.

Random games like this are fine, its good for the fans there that arent able to see a game live.
