Oh, brother. There's only so many personnel moves we can make in a year. We've been in every game this year - every game. Cundiff isn't great, but he isn't Cortez and nobody could have predicted a kicker getting injured. That being said, isn't it an odd year where there are so many kickers injured?

There REALLY are not that many kickers out there that are that much better the Cundiff- and none of them were availble and healthy at the same time. Sucks but that is the way it is- proven GOOD kickers are not available very often. Name one that was PROVEN better then Cundiff that we could have gotten?

All this love for Cundiff tells you how desperate we've been for a kicker. He was a decent to good kicker, but by no means Mr. Automatic. The Monday Night game was his best performance by far, but he didn't replicate that every week. You could almost count on the guy to miss his first attempt in a game, sort of like me always needing to take a mulligan on the first tee.

Here was my post when we re-signed Cundiff. Notice the comment in red. Can anyone tell me if today's attempt by Cundiff was the first FG he attempted today? It's unbelievable how many times he misses the first one.

yeah, just keep trying to convince yourself of that and maybe you'll feel better

there were a handful of decent to adequate kickers they could have signed during free agency without breaking the bank to at LEAST challenge Cuncrap for the job, but NOOOOOOO...lets be cheap!!!!

It doesn't make any sense. Our game plan is to win low scoring games, but we won't spend money on a kicker.

You know, I'm watching the game here in my hotel room with a bunch of Bronco fans and I tell them the way our FG kicking is this year the best defense against us is to let the Cowboys kicker kick a little chip shot. It's almost a given the Cowboys' kicker is going to miss it. I almost took perverse pride when Cundiff missed it. :(

Two games snatched from the jaws of victory because of our suck *** kickers.

I bet you liked him when he made that 56 yarder last week!!

Who is still happy to have Billy Cantkick back. I have never trusted him and there is why...Game on the line and he pulls a Cortez on us.

My feelings exactly.

Everyone was so happy to have him back, when actually he is no more than another average kicker.

I never liked him.

He'll make a 56-yard field goal against a team that blows, in which the game is void of pressure...

But misses ones that matter...

I dont care who the kicker is if he cant make a 34 yarder with 4 minutes left in the 4th quarter he deserves to be cut.

Hopefully, Parcells stays true to form and cuts Cundiff before midnight. Dependable NFL kickers should not miss 30-yarders with zero wind, perfect snap, perfect hold and zero pressure from the other team.

It's too bad Larry Allen didn't try and snatch his helmet off too.

I don't know why the hell we can't even find a mediocre kicker. Cortez cost us the Seattle game and Cundiff cost us this one. I think Cortez may have cost us Washington as well. We could be 10-1 or at least 9-2 including a win over Seattle that would have put us in great position for a bye. But thanks to horrific kicking we are 7-4. Thanks Bill and especially Jerry for not bringing in ONE competent kicker in years! We're going to have to fight to make the playoffs now. Oh and while I'm at it...nice block on 3rd down Rivera (I wonder if he yelled 'Olay!')...and Newman hold on to that pick and we win.

What the hell does that have to do with anything? He missed a go ahead chip shot and cost us the game. The 56 yarder was nice, but didn't mean nearly as much. Make the one's you're supposed to, not just a fluke 50+ yarder.

Hey? Isn't it legal to line up and punt the ball through the uprights for a field goal? Mat McBriar is a heck of a lot more accurate than Cundiff.

Just food for thought.
