It's okay, guys. We have a whole draft's worth of picks to find more starters.

And a whole bunch of UDFA's afterwards. We're probably as good at getting these undrafted players to contribute as anyone.

If we draft AJ McCarron in the 5th round I may go jump in front of a train.

I understand you're point but I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have panicked and threw away our 3rd round pick for nothing and taken a 7th round prospect in the 4th if I was in the war room actually drafting. But don't tell me that those players I listed doesn't look much better than who we actually drafted...

Actually they don't
Outside of Clinton Dix . They don't fit as well in our scheme
Nix is overweight 3-4 NT who can not maintain his weight and is not twitchy enough even at the 1Tech in a Marinelli style defense
Ealy is a strong side defensive end to which we have a log jam of similar talent guys already there

Lawrence is a WDE who should come in and start and was allot of teams #2 or 3 pass rushing specialist behind clowney and Barr .. I dîdnt like giving up a 3 to get him but if he does well.. That will be moot

This defense will not be fixed in one year.. Improved .. Not fixed

 

[The Quest for Six]

The success of taking a QB after the second round are slim to none so I hope we don't waste a pick on a QB, and after Jerry spoke about Manziel and Romo's contract and commitment, I highly doubt a QB selection this year.....Dallas still need a receiver.

Yes, OLB is a need . . . but why not Christian Jones? Or Jonathan Brown? Or Boseko Lokombo? Or Denicos Allen? Or Shaquil Barrett? Or Prince Shembo? Or Marquis Spruill? Or Khairi Fortt? Or Justin Jackson? Are you beginning to get the idea that Ol' Long Ball thinks this is a reach? Highlight Video

Well if birddog says so, then maybe this was a good pick. Still very surprised that this interest was not picked up by some of the well paid analysts spouting on the various channels. I hope we get lucky here; just think we could have gotten him in the 5th. And really what hole does he fill?
