I don't think the interior DL was as in dire need of help as getting a RDE. Melton is their big pickup on the interior and they've also got Crawford and Bass coming back and picked up McClain. It would have been great to get an upgrade at the 1-tech spot, but not sure we can find that now unless we just go whole hog and take several hoping one will stick (which I actually wouldn't mind seeing in the seventh, hoping to unearth a gem).

Ya, no doubt we will get a DT in the 7th. Crawford moving to DT, makes the need less.

Yankey going in middle of 5th rd- once upon a time he was touted as a possible Second Round pick. Now that is a fall.

Yet many would have cheered if Dallas had picked him in the fourth over Hitchens.

I don't think we need anything but a 3 and a WDE.

Frankly I would have; this guy was rated by most as someone going no lower then the end of the 3rd rd so to get him in the middle of the 4th would have been a good value pick.

They already got the WDE. Crawford, Bass and McClain have proven absolutely nothing in the league. I have high hopes for Crawford, the others, not so much. For the Cowboys, they are placing a lot of stock in two players coming off of serious injuries (Melton and Crawford). You would think that they would hedge their bets a bit there, especially coming off of a season where they had the worst defense in the league, and in franchise history.

I think Crawford ends up at 3-tech with Melton (unless Spencer's knees send Crawford to end); Bass ends up competing with McClain (and Hayden) at 1-tech; Selvie and Lawrence split snaps at RDE; and Spencer and Mincey split snaps at LDE (although I think Selvie will play there some as well).

A lot of those players could definitely be upgraded, but it's not really realistic to expect anyone taken at this point to be an upgrade unless we just get lucky.

Yeah, i guess this has to happen now. Still really frickin shocked we have not taken any sort of D-tackle at all. And I really will sit down tonight and look hard at all our picks. BUT, my biggerst ***** is the trades and giving up picks that we desperately need ! Everybody says that our teams lack of depth relates to bad draftes etc 2009 and yet knowing how desperatly we need players, they have traded our depth away AGAIN ... the faith that was being built this offseason and 1st round, is once again in the dumpster ...

interesting player the Giants took. They are serious about their secondary. Small player but makes plays.

I hope we get some length back there at DB.

I'm still not convinced there's a starting caliber 1 on this team, either.

We don't need another 1 slash 3. We have McClain and some backups in Bass and Crawford at least. We need another true 3 and a WDE. Spencer/Bass/Crawford/Selvie can play SDE.

I don't even like the idea of some of those guys being on the field, much less starting.

And I would have taken him too at that point over Hitchens based on those ratings, but the teams often show that those ratings mean absolutely nothing to them. It would be interesting to see every team's board and where they had the two players rated.

We'd probably be shocked at how off most of those experts are on some players.
